    MEXICAN CONSULATE OF NEW YORK TO HOST 5 STEPS FOR GOOD HEALTHINITIATIVE DURING WELLNESS WEEK, SEPTEMBER 17 - 22

    --Free Diabetes Screenings, Zumba Dance Classes for Kids, and 5 Steps for Good Health Exhibitionamong planned activities for Mexican community in NY Tri-State Area--

    WHAT: Media are invited to attend a press conference with Representatives of the Mexican Consulate of New Yorkand Sanofi Mexicos Jorge Rubio, Public Relations and Corporate Affairs Manager, on Thursday,September 15thto announce the details of the Consulates community health outreach to its constituents duringWellness Week that kicks off September 17 22, at the time of the United Nations High Level Meeting on theprevention and control of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Wellness Week will focus on preventivemeasures for NCDs by raising awareness and creating a call-to-action for individuals, communities and policy-makers.

    WHO: The Mexican Consulate of New York, with the support of the Mexican Ministry of Health, The WorldEconomic Forum, The Pan-American Health Organization and Sanofi Mexico, will host a series of publicwellness events for the Mexican community in the New York Tri-state area, beginning the week of September19th. Through the 5 Steps for Good Health Program, which Sanofi has supported in Mexico and is nowpresenting in New York, the Mexican community in the area will learn how to maintain a healthy lifestyle for theirfamilies by following a simple plan. Other activities planned for Wellness Week with the participation of Mexicancommunity-based organizations in the Tri-State area include a 5 Steps for Good Health Exhibition, freediabetes screenings and freeZumba Fitness classes for children between the ages 4 to 12. These activitieswill be held at Casa Puebla, a well-known Mexican cultural center in Manhattans Upper West Side.
