Method 1Step 1 Set up a proportion.

40 ?100 = 80

Method 1Step 2 Simplify. 40 ?100 = 80

2 ? 5 = 80

Method 1Step 3 Cross Multiply.

2 ? 5 = 80

2 x 80 = 160 5 = 32
