Who Am I? My animal is the gibbon.Gibbons are sometimes calledLesser Apes. Gibbons don’tbuild nests, instead, they sleepsitting down while their armsare wrapped around their kneesand their heads are on theirknees. To bond with family andmates, gibbons sing songs. Atpair ponds, Gibbons find a mateand stay with each otherforever. Sometimes, the femalegibbons are larger than themale.

The Early YearsWhen young, gibbons will mostlikely be a different color the themother and the father and thebabies stay with the parents forat least 210 days, they are verysmall and light-weight.

Habitat Sweet HabitatMostly gibbons are found inIndonesia, BangladeshMyanmar, Northeast India,China, Thailand, Cambodia,Vietnam and Laos. AlsoGibbons live in tropical andsubtropical areas. Gibbonsusually sleep in the trees, butoccasionally, they sleep on theground.

What’s on the Menu?Gibbons like to eat mostly fruitsand occasionally, bugs. Theyfind most of their food on theground, in the trees and in thebushes. They like eating eatingfruits because, like people, theyneed lots of energy, too.
