Jazz

Its West African pedigree is evident in its use of blue notes, improvisation(即席演奏 ), polyrhythms（多旋律） , syncopation（切分音） , and the swung note

Buddy Bolden formed a band in 1895.He is the first famous jazz musician.

BLUES

Blues is a music genre that originated in African-American communities of primarily the Deep South of the United States at the end of the 19th century from spirituals（圣歌） , work songs, field hollers, shouts and chants, and rhymed simple narrative ballads（民歌） .The blues form, ubiquitous in jazz, rhythm and blues, and rock and roll, is characterized by specific chord （和弦） progressions .

ROCK

1940s and 1950s

Rock music is a genre of popular music that developed during and after the 1960s, particularly in the United States and the United Kingdom. It has its roots in 1940s and 1950s rock and roll, itself heavily influenced by rhythm and blues and country music. Rock music also drew strongly on a number of other genres such as blues and folk, and incorporated influences from jazz, classical and other musical sources.

RAP

RAP is a primary ingredient in hip hop music & reggae, but the phenomenon predates hip hop culture by centuries. Rapping can be delivered over a beat or without accompaniment. Stylistically, rap occupies a gray area among speech, prose, poetry, and song. The use of the word to describe quick speech or repartee long predates the musical form,[meaning originally "to hit".The word had been used in British English since the 16th century, and specifically meaning "to say" since the 18th. It was part of the African American dialect of English in the 1960s meaning "to converse", and very soon after that in its present usage as a term denoting the musical style.[10] Today, the terms "rap" and "rapping" are so closely associated with hip hop music that many use the terms interchangeably.

Marshall Bruce Mathers III better known by his stage name Eminem, is an American rapper. He is the best Caucasian [kɔ:‘keiziən](白种人的 ) rapper. He have won 13 Grammy Awards for Best Rap Album and he also won the Academy Award(奥斯卡金曲奖) for Best Original Song for "Lose Yourself" from the film 8 Mile .

SOUL MUSIC灵歌

Soul music is a music genre originating in the United States combining elements of gospel music and rhythm and blues. According to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, soul is “music that arose out of the black experience in America through the transmutation of gospel and rhythm & blues into a form of funky(骤停打击乐 ), secular （黑人的俗歌） testifying.”Catchy rhythms, stressed by handclaps and extemporaneous （即席的，即兴的） body moves, are an important feature of soul music.
