Firsts & Facts Fun Facts of Firsts A-Analyze Learners o The age range of students in my class is 10-11. o 12 students are female; the other 8 students are male. o The students are in 5 th grade. o 2 students in my class have ADHD. S-State Objectives o The students will exhibit facts they learned about the Presidents. The students will be presented with be presented with a WebQuest on Word which they will visit all the links and choose two presidents to do research on. They will answer the questions on the Presidential Hunt, and complete a Venn diagram comparing/contrasting the two presidents they chose. The students will then watch a video on fun facts about the presidents. The students will accurately describe two president’s lives and term, and they will also be able to state random facts about the presidents with 85% accuracy. S-Select Methods, Media, & Materials o The students will be presented with a WebQuest that will have them explore the lives of different presidents. They will answer questions on the Presidential Hunt paper they were given. Next they will complete a Venn diagram that compares/contrasts the two presidents they researched. The students will then watch a video that provides them with random facts on the presidents. We will then have a class discussion where the students will each tell the class what they learned about the presidents they researched. The Venn diagrams they make will be displayed in the hallway. U-Utilize Media & Materials o The students will obtain knowledge about the presidents and learn fun facts about them. This activity is meant to be short and fun. o The students will be required to turn in the Presidential Hunt paper. They will also be required to put their Venn diagram on display in the hall. Lastly, the students will be participate in class discussion where they provide their knowledge on the presidents they researched.

E-Evaluate & Revise

o At the end of this lesson the students will present to the class what they have learned about their presidents. They must give provide a way the two presidents are similar and different. The students will also be asked to tell one of the facts they learned by watching the video.
