DECEMBER 5 ISSUE · 2013 TERM 4 · WEEK 9 t central express The official newsletter of Central Coast Adventist School Central Coast Adventist School Try a Bit of Thankfulness ‘In everything give thanks...’ 1 Thessalonians 5:18 NKJV Today, try to start a habit of saying ‘thank you’ (out loud, if you can) for as many things as you can manage. People who fill their lives with gratitude for the ordinary things of life become dispensers of serious joy. Not just the words ‘thank you’ - the words aren’t magic. But making space and time to offer God little, sincere ‘thank yous’ in your day will change you; it will make you slow down, and take time to notice the way the world really is. Why ‘in everything give thanks?’ The best things in life are those God gives us the most of-the quiet things that make up the fullness of ordinary life. (Isn’t breakfast wonderful?! It’s supercalifragilistically seriously scrumptious! And yet, most every day we battle through it bleary- eyed...) God gives us lives generally made up of relationships, sleeping, eating and getting on with work. We take them for granted, and forget they’re supposed to be rewarding in themselves. It’s worth being reminded that even the most basic things in life are from God, and if they’re from God, they must be good. Thankfulness does that. Wondering how to get a bit of life in your faith? Maybe, simply, try being thankful. Remember, ‘... the joy of the Lord is your strength.’ (Nehemiah 8:10 NIV) When you take joy in all of the little things He’s given you, your life lights up, and you get legs for your faith. So, have a shot at thanking our Father God for as much as you can, right now. See how it goes! - word4U2day (an adaptation of The Word for Today authored by Bob & Debby Gass) CAMPUS NEWS Speech Night - NEXT Thursday Our Speech Night programs are an opportunity for the whole school community to celebrate the culmination of another school year and we would like to invite you all to come along and participate.
