The fire did not spread to other parts of the building, but due to its “ferocity” smoke had filled hallways in other parts of the complex and remaining residents had to be temporarily evacuated. It was stated that the fire could have been controlled if there had been a better fire safety plan in place within the buildings.

The blaze was quickly extinguished after evacuations but reports say that the blaze could have been dealt with sooner if adequate fire extinguishers were used. Fire safety facilities within the building such as self-closing doors and sub-division on the corridors ensured that the fire didn’t spread and this was a huge help for crews in dealing with the blaze.
