A Note from the Director
Dear Theater Patron,
Five years ago during my senior year, our school performed an amazing and inspiring show. Now, Les Misérables has returned to the MHS stage as a celebration of past and pre-sent talents; inspired by the 10th anniversary professional concert in 1995 and the recent release of the film this past year.
In performing this concert, our cast is challenged with limited staging, props, costumes and time. They must utilize their own talents to portray the essence of the show. I hope that, as members of the audience, you take note of this and really listen to the words expressed. Every word, every verse and every note is filled with emotion and inspiration that will take your breathe away.
To the current student body, thank you for your continued time and commitment to the MHS theater. Our summer shared together has been so enjoyable and I am so grateful to have had this opportunity to get to know you all. Although your days at Mineola are long, there will always be a light at the end of the tunnel. Enjoy every second of it while you still can!
To the alumni, thank you for returning to the stage. I know that you all would agree in saying that this experience has been like returning home to your crazy, ridiculous and loving family. We all have our own stories that take place far from Mineola, but in the end we can always return to our roots.
Finally, to the teachers and parents; the people who have raised us and taught us how to be ourselves. We would not be here without you and we hold your lessons close to our hearts. Thank you for all your patience, love and support.
As Victor Hugo states in Les Misérables, “Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise”. In my own journey, I have learned that five years seems to be a long time, but it all happens in a blink of an eye. The road may be long and grueling, but the end will always be worth it.
Thank you all for coming and enjoy the show!
Sincerely,
Jenelle Fiori
Director
