Because they bear the most beautiful values that sport can convey – LOVE OF THE GAME, RESPECT, COMMITMENT , TOLERANCE and SOLIDARITY – the PARIS WORLD GAMES are supported by the highest national authorities, by the city council of Paris and by the sports federations.
As an illustration, here is the support message(*) of BERNARD LAPASSET, Co-President of the Paris bid for the 2024 Olympics:
… This great sports celebration, with young people coming from all over the world, regardless of their ori-gins, their social environment, their beliefs. All are reunited for a week in Paris in order to compete in 5 different sports, all Olympic sports, collective or individual ones.
Some of them will discover our amazing city. But before all, they will discover each other, each other’s culture, each other’s history. Of course, there will be winners and losers. But each of them will grow from this experience, in the values of respect, tolerance and commitment.
These are the common values, the values of openness and taste for commitment that weshare with the PARIS WORLD GAMES…
