Product OverviewThe NetComm Wireless 4G WiFi M2M Router utilises the speed and performance capabilities of a LTE/4G network to deliver seamless M2M connectivity for a broad range of M2M applications. The NTC-140W features two Gigabit Ethernet ports and high speed WiFi connectivity making it an ideal device for high speed networking. The device also features vehicle voltage support, GPS and Ignition input making it ideal for mobile assets and transportation applications.
The NTC-140W creates point-to-point and point-to-multi-point communication enabling the secure collection and analysis of data from remote and unmanned applications.
Application ExamplesGiven that this router has a 4G LTE modem inside, it will be most suited to applications that require high bandwidth. Examples of M2M applications that require a high bandwidth include:
Digital signage – downloading real time advertising content over the air
Video surveillance – steaming live video content
Time critical systems – to support systems such as traffic flow control
Cloud storage – Delivers a fixed broadband alternative to cloud based applications
Disaster recovery – Ideal for business that require a device that will support high throughput
Tele-health services – allow video and data to be transmitted from remote locations
Location Based Services – machines that require LBS to enhance services such as multimedia navigation and advertising.
The NTC-140W’s powerful processor delivers optimal performance and its embedded NetComm Linux OS and Software Development Kit (SDK) offers the end user the capability to install custom firmware to the onboard flash memory via the programming interface. Built in VPN clients also ensure a secure connection over a public mobile network.
Its polycarbonate and rubber enclosure is mountable, designed for rugged deployments and also features temperature tolerances making it ideal for remote and industrial environments. The device also features 1 x I/O and USB OTG.

With penta-band 3G support, all 3G networks around the world are covered. This can be important as the device will automatically fall-back to using 3G should the router move outside the 4G network range
2 x Gigabit Ethernet ports (LAN + WAN/LAN)
A high speed Ethernet connection is suited for those applications that require high bandwidth. When the WAN/LAN port is used as an alternate Internet connection (WAN), the router can be setup to automatically failover from Ethernet WAN to 4G.
802.11n WiFiCreate a WiFi hotspot for multiple devices to connect to. Manage several networked machines connected to the router with WiFi or for personal use as an in-vehicle WiFi network, as examples.
1 x multipurpose I/O portAttach sensors and other external peripherals that can be monitored by the router. The router can communicate any pre-configured changes in data that is read from the sensors.
Integrated GPSThe embedded GPS receiver makes this router suitable for tracking and monitoring mobile assets. Perfect for the transportation industry or applications that require different location based behaviours.

Polycarbonate housing with wall and DIN rail mounting options
The housing is made of polycarbonate with rubber end caps to ensure the device is durable in rugged and industrial environments. The mounting options provide further flexibility to how the device is deployed.
Configurable power save mode The router can be configured to enter a power save mode and draw minimal current when not in operation.
