Tuesday 4/21: Home Assignments These activities should be completed on the Seesaw App. Students will log on via the home learning codes. If you are unable to access this app, please complete these activities using the My Fundations Journal previously sent home! Fundations: 10 minutes – Choose from the activities below. Your individual assignments are listed in your seesaw. 1) Drill-Sound Warmup - Assigned on Seesaw or have students look at the R- Controlled Vowels poster below to practice. Say the letters, keyword, and sound for each. Example: “a-r, car, /ar/” Next, look at the list of Trick Words and practice reading each word. 2) Word of the Day- In their Fundations Journals, students should write the Word of the Day: strap. Then, tap and blend to read the word; mark the word; and write a sentence using the word. 3) Introduce New Concepts- Today we will be adding a suffix to words with five sounds. In their Fundations Journals, students should write the following words: skunk, drink, grunt, sting. Add the suffix “s” to the end of each word. Then underline the baseword and circle the suffix. The students should read words aloud, remembering to tap and blend. 4) Find Letters & Words- Listen to the following sounds and words, while you look at the keyboard below to find them, write them in your Fundations Journal: ong, unk, shells, plant, splash, scrub. Remember to tap and blend by tapping the letters on the keyboard as you spell.

Look at the picture pairs and say each word. Choose the word from each pair that has a long vowel sound “eeeeee” and write it in your fundation journal.

Reading: 20 minutesIndependent reading for at least 20 minutes. Remember to use strategies from school and log it on the reading log. Reading log is required, as this will be needed to document your learning. Feeling tech savvy? Record yourself reading on Seesaw.

Writing: 20 minutesIn each writing, please include capitals/punctuation, spell words / word parts you know correctly, use best handwriting, and include a detailed sketch! Time allowing, reread your work and add colors to sketches, as appropriate.

Prompts Assigned on Seesaw. If writing in the Fundations Journal is easier, please feel free to upload a picture of the work into the Seesaw assignment each day using the camera tool!

If Seesaw is unavailable, please complete in My Fundations Journal. Include more than one sentence and an illustration. Read your writing aloud when you are finished!
