One tip I’ve learned from the beauty professionals is the importance of a founda- tion brush – mine’s from Cover FX. The coverage is much more even and it gives a better finish. For a quick fix, I also like MAC blotting papers. They remove shine without adding more make-up so are great for the office. I start the day by cleansing with Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser with Cottonseed, followed by a slick of Neal’s Yard Power Berry moisturiser. It’s organic and natural so it suits my sensitive skin. Since I turned 30, I always apply an eye cream – Prevage Eye Advanced Anti-Aging Serum is the best in my opinion. I’m really picky about bronzers My favourite is Nars Bronzing Powder in Laguna, because it doesn’t contain any orange pigments. For mascara, I use everything from Collection 2000 to YSL. I like to change it every six weeks. My secret eye weapon is the lash-boosting serum RevitaLash. It was devised by a doctor whose wife lost all her lashes when she had cancer. It’s amazing. I like a harsh exfoliator In the morning, I wash my face with Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish and like to use a coarse exfoliator from L’Occitane to get my skin properly clean. I have combination skin, so I use Darphin Hydraskin Serum as a moisturiser because it doesn’t feel too oily. I have an ongoing battle with dark circles I dot eye cream under my eyes every night and My colleagues have never seen me without eye make-up on My mum had 60s spidery lashes and I’ve always loved a false lash. For holidays and Fashion Week I’ll ditch the mascara and opt for Jinny Lash semi-permanent lashes. I always wear purple eyeliner – it’s less harsh than black, especially for daytime and it really suits blue eyes. Keratin hair treatments have changed my life My thick, rebellious hair is the bane of my life. I’ve tried everything to make it glossy and manageable. Treatments that use keratin give you that taming and smoothing effect without making your hair poker straight. Now that I’ve discov- ered them, I have about two a year. My feel-good secret comes in supplement form I always take an Omega 3, 6 & 9 capsule and Functionalab does a great antioxidant mix. When I’m in New York, I stock up on Emergen- C powder. It’s a blend of vitamins so if I feel as though I’m coming down with something, I take it for a superboost. use cover-up every day. I’ve got my mother, grandmother and sister all onto Garnier Eye Roll-On. It blends in perfectly and makes you look fresh, even if you’re exhausted. I’m happy with my hair now, but I’ve been every hair colour under the sun I was 12 when I first dyed my hair with Sun-In and it went bright orange. Since then I’ve been black, white and even pink, but thankfully those days are over. Since I discovered LA Science Fol- licle Stimulating Shampoo my hair has grown much quicker, but I think long hair has to be in good condition so I also use Neil George Indian Gooseberry Treatment Oil in the evenings to keep the ends healthy. My hair routine is a three- day cycle. On day one I have clean, straight hair, day two consists of Batiste dry sham- poo and tongs, while on day three I revert to a topknot.
