2 Alarm Type Classified by Nature of Alarm Fault Alarm The alarms generated in case of hardware equipment faults or ction failures. After the fault has been removed ,the system will report ed alarm. One clear alarm corresponds to one fault alarm Event Alarm The l alarms indicating that the system is in alarm state for a while. There leared alarm for event alarms Classified by Network Management Power system Signaling system Trunk system Hardware system Operating system QoS Error processing Environment system Software system Communication system HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD. 2 Alarm Severity Critical Alarm > The critical Alarm has an impact on the service provided by the system. It req uires timely handling. Major Alarm > The major alarm affect QoS. It requires immediate handling. Minor Alarm > The minor alarm does not affect QoS. It requires handling at a proper time aga inst potential faults. Warning > The warning shows a potential error that may affect service. It may require ha ndling in some cases. HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD. All rights reserved Page 14

3 Daily Maintenance Operations Maintenance item Operation instructions 1. Check whether there exist Current ala rms in physical topology window of M2000 Client. If Current alarms exist in one o r more NodeB,then go to step2. Check and handle NodeB Active alarms in real time (daily) 2. If Active alarms exist in one or more NodeB, quenry all Current alar ms through query active alarm function in M2000 Client(Select follow options: No deBs you want, active). 3. Handle all active alarms one by one(Handling process ref. help manual of alarm management system). 4. Record the symptoms, causes and handling process of relevant alarms in 3.2 NodeB Daily Maintenance Record . Notes Enable the function of sending relevant alarms to the alarm box. Use alarm quer y function in M2000 client Function Position: Fault->Query>Current Alm Or Select NodeBs with alarm indicator, then use quenry current alarm function of right bu tton. 4 Relative Concepts of Data File What is the data file? The data files of the NodeB contain its basic data information. They are independ ent of the NodeB software: Data configuration file : it records NodeB configurat ion information Operation log file : Equipment archives : it records NodeB maint enance information. it records manufacturing information of all boards in the No deB What is the upload and download? Upload: You can upload data files from the NodeB to the FTP Server for viewing, modifying and saving. Upload has no impact on the NodeB Download: You can download updated data files from the FTP Server to the NodeB HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD. All rights reserved Page 41

4 Configuration File Upload and Download GUI Mode Note: The FTP Server has to work normally and connect properly to the NodeB in t he same Intranet. There shall be no firewall between the FTP Server and the Node Transfer Type: How to select Upload and Download Directory Name : To specify the directory of the configuration file for Upload and Download FTP Setting : To set the FTP Server for file upload and download HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD.
