LOCATION
Located a short distance from Rathnure, Ballybaun Stud is set in a small village at the foot of the Blackstairs Mountains, about 12 km (7.5 miles) from the picturesque town of Enniscorthy.
Enniscorthy is Wexford’s second largest town and one of the longest continuously occupied sites in Ireland, with rich history going back to 465 AD, boasting several historical sites and museums. A fitness centre, various sports grounds, including a rugby club and GAA club, and several hotels.
Surrounding the town, there is an 18-hole golf course, several pitch and putts, freshwater fishing and the five-star spa Monart. Horse riding and hunting is also available in the area. Just 20 minutes south of Enniscorthy on the N11 lies the county capital town of Wexford, home of the National Opera House, which attracts visitors from all over the world every October to the famous Wexford Festival Opera. The medieval town of New Ross, with a sailing club and festivals, and the market town of Bunclody are both within easy reach.
Motorways M9 and the new M11 extension (shortly to bypass Enniscorthy), provide fast connection with Dublin and networks throughout the country. A scenic train journey between Dublin and Rosslare can be enjoyed from Wexford or Enniscorthy. The
Europort of Rosslare provides numerous daily sailings to Britain and continental Europe.
