KATRA: GRP Katra recovered two unattended bags duringthe search of trains. As per the details, during routinechecking/search of the trains at Railway Station Katra,GRP personnel /search party noticed unattended bags lyingin the train. On this they informed SHO Police Station GRPKatra and SDPO Railways Katra which rushed to the spot,searched the bags and found 232 bottles of Onerex syrupand 17 bottles of Wincerex syrup, SHO Police StationGRP Katra Inspector Narinder Singh seized these bags andhanded over to Dy. Controller of Drugs Katra under properprocedure, for further appropriate action.

RAMBAN: Police on Saturday arrested a drug peddler andrecovered 50 grams brown sugar from his possession.
As per the details, on the directions of SSP Ramban AnitaSharma, a police party led by SHO Ramban Insp VijayKotwal under supervision of DySP Hqrts Ramban AsgarMalik and under close supervision of Adll.SP Sanjay Pariharlaid a surprise Naka near Mihar and during checking inter-cepted a person which on seeing the police started fleeingfrom the spot to avoid checking. But the alert cops appre-hended him. On thorough search of the suspected person,police recovered 50 grams of brown sugar like substancefrom his possession. The accused identified as Azad Ahmed,son of Sanaullah Ganai, resident of Brarinag Anantnag wasarrested and a case vide FIR No 60/19 under sections8/21/22 of NDPS act stands was registered against him atPolice Station Ramban.

On the directions of theExcise Commissioner M. Rajuand supervision of DeputyExcise Commissioner(Executive), Jammu S.Amarjeet Singh, the Excise Team comprising of ETOEradication Virender Singh Billawria and ETO Rafie Naikalong with Inspector's Excise Razi Ahmad, Tariq Aziz, SIAmit Sharma , Sanjeev Kumar, Neel Raj Gupta, NaveenSharma and Excise Guards Rajinder Singh, Shamsher DevSingh, Hans Raj, Sanjeev Sharma ,Pawan Sharma, TarseemSingh , Sanju Kumar raided the Tarf Sanji, Chardyala,upper Saktachak & Ladhuchak areas of Kathua district toarrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor.
In the process more than 600 Kgs of Lahan raw materialof illicit liquor was recovered by the raiding team from stateland & later destroyed on spot.

RAJOURI: In a major crackdown against drivers involvedin violation of traffic rules and regulations, Jammu andKashmir police seized 39 vehicles and Challaned a numberof others during a two-hour long drive in Rajouri town.
On the directions of SSP Rajouri, Yougal Manhas, teamsof police headed by Additional SP Liyaqit Ali' DySPHeadquarters Govind Rattan, SHO Rajouri Ajaz Haider,SHO Women police station Rajouri, Sushma Thakur andIncharge PP Rajouri city, SI Suresh Sharma laid trafficchecking nakas at Gujjar Mandi chowk, Khandli bridge,Salani bridge, old bus stand and workshop bridge respective-ly. During this two hours long special drive, 39 two wheelerswere seized as the same were found plying on roads withtheir drivers in violations of rules. Alongside, 96 vehicle driv-ers were also challaned for different violations of MV Act.SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas has appealed guardians andparents of minor children not to allow them to drive vehiclesbefore the prescribed age of 18 years and possess a licenseissued by motor vehicles department.

An order in this regard wasissued by District MagistrateRajouri on 1st of March 2019and all the licensed weaponholders were asked to deposittheir weapons in local policestations in view of forth com-ing parliamentary polls.

Giving details of the trafficawareness drive, a policespokesperson said, "as a partof Civic Action Programmeof J and K Police, threemajor towns of the districtwere identified to be targetedfor traffic awareness i.eBanihal, Ramban andBatote. It was noticed over aperiod of time that the bikeriders in these areas do notwear crash helmets as a safe-
