The Role These four positions will provide a broad level of medical experience for Junior Doctors entering basic physician training or intending to apply to RACP in the future. Geraldton Hospital has been accredited by the RACP as a Level 1 Teaching Hospital for Basic Physician Training but is not a part of official metro BPT program. However, Medical Registrars have the opportunity to have their service time at Geraldton to be accredited toward their BPT program subject to RACP approval (further information can be obtained from Geraldton hospital’s Director of Clinical Training). Geraldton Hospital has three medical teams, each managed by a consultant, registrar and junior doctors. Teams are responsible for inpatient and outpatient medical care including: High Dependency Unit, Hospital in the Home, Renal Dialysis and Oncology services. In addition, medical teams provide a high level of support to complex surgical and orthopaedic inpatients and other services. Roster commitments are rotational to cover day, evening and weekend shifts. Salary as per WA Health System Medical Practitioners AMA Industrial Agreement 2016: Full Time (80 hours per fortnight), Fixed Term,12 month contracts available. Registrar Year 1-7 $128,221 to $172,239 pa* *includes base salary $108,057 - $148,256 pa, professional development allowance $9,899 pa, and 9.50% employer contributed superannuation. Rates effective as 1st Oct 2017 In addition (in line with operational requirements), access to salary packaging up to $19,000 pa, professional development opportunities and study leave/assistance, and flexible leave arrangements apply to this position. Shift and after hours penalties are additional to this package.
