My Elevator Pitch – The Art of Making an Impression in

30 seconds or less

1. Who am I? I am laid back but a go-getter. Cool under pressure but when given a task or job I won’t stop until it is done right. As a young child I would open a new lego set and not get up until the entire set was completed. That is still the approach I take when given any task today. I take pride in being reliable when somebody is in need. The people in my life know if they need me to do something, it will be done. Organization and leadership is a natural gift God has given me. God is the source of all my skills and abilities so whatever I do I try to use them to glorify Him.

2. What are my major accomplishments, passions, unique skills? The last five years I have been a full time Business student and college football player. Although there have been times when I do not enjoy all the hard work and extra time required to be a student athlete I sincerely believe it has taught me valuable lessons and molded me into a better person. Twenty plus hours a week of position meetings, practice, walk-throughs, and busy weekends traveling for games while still balancing a full work load of classes and home work teaches you the value of team-work, organization, work ethic, time-management, and leadership. Being recently married I know what it is like to balance work and play. Family is my number one passion and will always come before my profession.

3. What do I want? I’m not 100% clear on exactly where I want to be in five years, but I have faith that if I keep God in the center of everything I do I will be content and successful. In Jeremiah 29:11 the God I believe in says, “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” With this assurance of His word, I can live a worry free life and continue to work hard and trust that his plan will prevail. The one thing I am certain of is I want a family with healthy children. One of the greatest responsibilities we have as men on this earth is to be a “father” for our children.

4. Where am I going? After graduation I plan to find a job coaching high school football/teaching somewhere in Texas. I do not have a specific area targeted but the closer to both of our families the better.
