IOMS Interface
The Integration Option for Microsoft SharePoint (or IOMS) provides a Microsoft SharePoint interface to the SAP BusinessObjects BI platform repository. IOMS is the successor to the SharePoint integration kit that shipped with previous versions of the BI platform. IOMS can be quickly deployed as a SharePoint site template, providing immediate access to business intelligence content and functionality. In addition, IOMS includes web parts that can be used to extend existing SharePoint sites with business intelligence. Both of these deployment options provide tight integration into the SharePoint user experience. Both the IOMS template and web parts allow users to search, manage, view, and interact with BI content using the familiar Microsoft SharePoint interface. The IOMS template, shown here, includes a Site Actions menu and 3 tabs in the top left corner. Only the 64 but version of SharePoint is supported

Site Actions
The Site Actions menu allows administrators to perform tasks such as creating and editing SharePoint sites and pages, creating document libraries, assigning site permissions, and modifying site options for all users.

Browse BI Content

Integrated Search
BI Platform permissions
and rights enforced
The Browse tab is the default. It allows users to access their home page, personal BI platform inbox, and interact with content in the report repository. Users can manage BI content via SharePoint as they would using similar functionality via the BI Launch pad. Users with the required permissions can perform tasks such as scheduling reports, managing report history, or viewing and sharing documents. Users can also upload content via SharePoint. They can open, view, and interact with content via SharePoint. Depending on the type of content, it may be displayed inside the web browser, or in an application such as Microsoft Excel. Common tasks such as scheduling reports, discussing content, or viewing documents can be performed by right clicking objects. In addition, a lot of work has been done to improve the search capabilities in IOMS, by leveraging the new search engine built into the 4.0 BI platform. Permissions and rights are enforced by IOMS, the same way they are enforced on the BI platform. Users can only access content they are authorized to access. Administration for tasks such as search and content management is done via the Central Management Console. This allows the IOMS to leverage new auditing and monitoring functionality for BI administration.

Overview
To use a SharePoint site to access your business intelligence content,
you must first install SAP BusinessObjects integration option for
Microsoft SharePoint software (IOMS).
Note that, prior to installing IOMS, you must install Microsoft Office
SharePoint Server 2007 on a Windows Server 2003 operating system,
or install SharePoint 2010 on a Windows Server 2008 operating system.
In this tutorial, you will install the SAP BusinessObjects integration
option for Microsoft SharePoint software in an environment running
SharePoint 2010.

OverviewAfter installing the integration option for Microsoft SharePoint software,
you must create a site within SharePoint based on the site definition
template that is loaded as part of the installation. This new site then acts
as the interface for users to access content stored in the SAP
BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform repository, replacing the
standard BI launch pad.
In this tutorial, you will create a new SharePoint site based on the SAP
Business Objects template.

OverviewCreating a site based on the SAP BusinessObjects site definition
template results in a site that includes a number of pre-defined web
parts. However, if additional features are desired, you can edit the
individual pages on the site to add other web parts and adjust the
settings for those features.
In this tutorial, you will edit the Home page to add the Document Viewer
web part and change the settings so that the web part retains a view of
the last document opened.
