“THE CULT”

FADE IN:

EXT. LOCATION #1 – EVENING

Screen is black with just a voice over. As Adam begins to speak, the camera dissolves into focus to a CU of Adam shaking Amy awake.

ADAM (V.O.)

Amy, wake up. Wake up Amy!

(MCU) Amy on the floor.

AMY

What... what happened? Where am I?

(MS) Adam begins to help Amy off of the ground.

ADAM

I dunno. We’re in some forest. I followed you here from the party after you just decided to wander off and next thing I knew you’d passed out on the ground.

AMY

(Confused)

The party?

Adam

(Laughing)

Blimey, you must have been really drunk if you don’t even remember going!

(Gestures to empty bottles on the ground)

AMY

Oh... right.

ADAM

Come on then, we best get you home.

(LS) Adam puts his arm around Amy and supports her as they walk along the path and out of the woods.

EXT. LOCATION #2 - EVENING

Adam is walking Amy home and they are nearly at her house. (MS) as the two characters are having a conversation.

AMY

So, what party were we even at?

ADAM

Jamie’s? I can’t believe you don’t remember any of it! Are you feeling alright now?

AMY

Yeah, yeah I feel fine now. It’s really weird. I... I just don’t remember a thing. I don’t even feel hung-over, either. I just have a bit of a headache.

ADAM

(Begins to laugh)

Well that’s probably where you managed to knock yourself out on the floor.

The characters arrive at Amy’s front door. She goes to opens it and steps inside. (LS, OTS) of Amy standing in the doorway.

AMY

Thank you, Adam. If it wasn’t for you I’d probably still be lying in the middle of that forest with God knows what else in there.

(LS, OTS) showing Adam standing in the street.

ADAM

Don’t mention it Ames.

Adam raises his hand in mock salute and walks off down the road. Camera changes to (MS) showing Amy waving goodbye and shutting the door.

INT. LOCATION #2 – EVENING

High angle (CU) shows Amy looking up the stairs. After a moment of contemplation she decides her Mum won’t wake up, so creeps upstairs and goes into her bedroom, shutting the door gently. (MS) Amy enters her room, takes off her shoes and gets into bed fully clothed. High Angle(MCU) Amy staring at her ceiling. She looks out of the window and shuts the curtain. She turns over and goes to sleep.

FADE OUT

INT. LOCATION #2 – DAYTIME

(MS) Amy halfway through her ‘getting ready for school’ routine. She is doing her make-up and notices a picture on her pin board. (CU, OTS) shows the picture of herself and Katie that she is holding in her hand.

INT. LOCATION #3 – DAYTIME – FLASHBACK

(MCU) Katie in school looking happy and laughing with friends.

END FLASHBACK.

INT. LOCATION #2 – DAYTIME

(MCU) Amy holding the photograph in her hands. (MS) She puts the photograph back onto her pin board and finishes doing her make-up. Amy looks at her watch, turns to grab her bag and leaves her bedroom.

EXT. LOCATION #4 – DAYTIME

(LS) Amy is walking into school. She brings out her phone. (CU) It is shown that she is calling Katie. (MCU) Amy holds the phone to her ear and after a few seconds takes it away from her face as Katie has not answered. Looking up, she notices Adam standing in school with a group of other friends. She approaches them and Adam looks up and waves. The others leave as Amy gets closer to him.

ADAM

(Jokingly)

Hey! How are you feeling this morning?

AMY

(Lightly punches him on the arm)

Shut up. Just a bit tired, really. Have you seen Katie today?

ADAM

Can’t say I have, Ames. Come on though, we’re gonna be late for class.

AMY

I’m meant to meet her though, I always do. But she’s not answering her phone.

ADAM

Aw, come on. I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about. She probably just slept through her alarm. You know what Katie’s like. Come on, we’re gonna be late and you don’t want to upset Mr Jarvis do you?

Adam turns and walks towards the door. Amy turns and scans the area one last time for her friend before following him.
