z Mondayz September 17, 2018 4 DISTRICTS STATE TIMES NEWS KISHTWAR: District Development Commissioner, Angrez Singh Rana on Sunday chaired a public grievance redress camp here at Nali village Bounjwah to have the first-hand appraisal of public issues. A team of senior officers of line departments accompa- nied the DC at the camp attended by prominent civil society members of block Bounjwah and locals. The locals projected infra- structure requirements including roads, power, water, healthcare and ade- quate patient care in health centers and establishment of blood bank. Compensation to the own- ers for the land acquired for Dunadi Bonjwah road, mak- ing the local receiving station functional and start of Harnoi Power Project was also demanded by the peo- ple. They further sought bene- fits to maximum number of people under old aged pen- sion and marriage assistance scheme for poor girls and release of pending wages, material payments under MGNREGA and SBM. The people also demanded ade- quate staff in schools, play field, tourist centre and tourist hut at Devigool . The locals also complained about acute water scarcity and demanded immediate release of salary to HR work- ers, income certificate for scholarship scheme, besides addressing Horticulture and agriculture, animal hus- bandry related issues. The DC gave a patient hearing to the public and assured that all the genuine demands would be met in due course of time. Regarding bad condition of Dunadi-Bonjwah road, the DDC said that the renovation of the road- the only life line of the area shall be started very soon. He directed Tehsildar to go for mapping of roads to remove encroach- ments with the help of police authorities and Line depart- ments within two weeks. The Power Development Department authorities informed that the un-electri- fied villages of Bonjwah area will be electrified within two months. The DDC directed XEN PDD to immediately erect electric polls wherever required within a week. The Social welfare depart- ment informed that 676 cases of old age pension have been registered and 76 stand sub- mitted under marriage assis- tance in which 48 were given assistance. The DDC direct- ed DSWO to ensure disburse- ment of payment in remain- ing cases within shortest pos- sible time. Responding to the demand with regard to the upgrada- tion of Agricultural Building, the DDC issued on spot directions to the concerned officer for immediate redress of the issue. In response to the water scarcity problem of the area, DDC directed XEN PHE to clear the bottlenecks and address the drinking water issue on priority. Responding to the demand of playfield in HSS Bounjwah , the DDC assured that the work shall be executed in convergence under MGNREGA and CDF. In this regard, the DDC informed that he will approach the local MLA for release of funds under CDF. Further, DDC directed ACD, Kishtwar, DPO Kishtwar and BDO Bonjwah for immediate release of pending payments under MGNREGA and SBM with- out fail otherwise strict disci- plinary action against the erring officer(s) shall follow. Responding to the issue raised by a local electorate, the DDC directed local Tehsildar to immediately move records of voter lists to Tehsil Bounjwah for general information of the public. Taking strong note of com- plaint about lackadaisical approach adopted by some employees in performing their legitimate duties, the DDC warned of making adverse entry in the Service Books of erring officials. STATE TIMES NEWS BHADARWAH: Thousands converged at historical Khakhal locality of Bhadarwah on last day of the holy three day Mela Patt on Sunday. The Mela is being celebrated every year to commemorate the his- toric meet between Akbar and Raja Nagpal of Bhaderwah in 16th century at Delhi. Mela Patt festival is devot- ed to Lord Vaskui Naag, the presiding deity of Bhadarwah Valley, being celebrated on Nag Panchmi every year. This Mela was first initiated by Raja Nagpal in 16th century as the ruler of that small prin- cipality called the then Bhaderkashi which is now known as Bhadarwah. The Mela is organised on the conclusion of the Kailash Yatra in which thousands of people drawn from different parts of the State and elsewhere partici- pate to take blessings of Vasuki Nag. On the occasion, people also participated in the tra- ditional Dikko Dance, which makes this festival a symbol of peace, pride and commu- nal harmony. The royal robes that was presented by King Akbar to Raja Nagpal of Bhadarwah in his honour was also displayed during the 'Mela Patt'. Main organiser (known as Dashnan) of the festival, Advocate Naresh Kumar Gupta said that this festival is not only the symbol of religion but also depicts our proud unique heritage and mutual brotherhood. Perhaps this is the only fes- tival of India which is being celebrated for the last 600 years without any untoward or ugly incident, which clearly shows communal harmony of this area and respect for Raja Nag Pal irrespective of religion. On the occasion, people also installed many stalls of eatables, toys, religious books and others at the venue. Mother-daughter among 3 killed in accident, accused driver nabbed STATE TIMES NEWS KATHUA: A team of Police Station Hiranagar Kathua arrested a driver accused of causing death of three persons in an acci- dent and managed to flee away from the spot. Incident took place near Katal Gujrian Sherpur Hiranagar when a driver of matador ( JK02S- 6875) coming from Rajpura Ghagwal to Sherpur Hiranagar, driv- ing rashly and negligently hit a two wheeler (JK08C- 8974) causing death of three persons riding on motorcycle. The deceased were identified as Ram Dass son of Narsingh Dayal resident of Kootah, Anita Devi widow of Sanjay Kumar and her daughter Pallavi resident of Kootah. The arrested driver iden- tified as Ashok Kumar son of Sardar Chand resident of Nai Basti Jandi Hiranagar was arrested and a case under relevant sections of law was regis- tered in the incident. STATE TIMES NEWS KISHTWAR: Deputy Inspector General of Police DKR Range Rafiq-Ul- Hassam held a crime review meeting of Police Sub- Division of Kishtwar Chatroo , Marwah and Atholi. During the meeting DIG DKR Range Rafiq-ul- Hassan examined the per- formance of Police Stations. The main focus of the meet- ing was to improve the qual- ity of investigation of acci- dent cases, motor vehicle theft, burglary, NDPS Act and other cases. Besides, missing persons, inquest proceedings, arrest of absconders and action taken under preventive measures were also reviewed. The issue of public complaints pending with Police Sub- Division also discussed. In the meeting DIG DKR Range Shri Rafiq-Ul- Hassan discussed all MV theft cases one by one. He advised SHO for finalisation of the pending cases/public complaints to give the relief to the general public. DIG personally checked the case files of heinous offences and took serious note of it and directed I/Os for speedy dis- posal of cases assigned to them for conducting the investigation. He also advised the police stations staff to conduct foot patrolling in their respective jurisdictions. The investigat- ing staff was also directed to conduct the investigation of cases with zeal, dedication and with transparency at an earliest possible time in the public interest and bring the pendency to the minimum. DC interacts with civil services aspirants STATE TIMES NEWS POONCH: District Development Commissioner Rahul Yadav on Sunday gave tips to Civil Services aspirants here at Government Degree College. The Principal M.H Shah, HoDs, lecturers and a large number of students were pres- ent at the session. The DDC delivered a detailed lecture on the prepa- ration for Civil Services exam- ination and gave subject wise introduction. He advised the student to have a brief outlook of all subjects and that read- ing newspapers is very impor- tant for Civil Services Exam. He also informed students to stress on basics of their con- cerned subjects. The DDC inspired students by informing them about his own journey to IAS and gave several examples to motivate the young students. He also recommended leading books, newspapers and online plat- forms for the preparation of civil services exam. STATE TIMES NEWS R S PURA: In order to cele- brate Rashtriya Poshan Maah, Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) pro- gramme was organised at Satrayian Kalan, R S Pura. SKUAST-J Scientist gets two prestigious awards STATE TIMES NEWS REASI: Dr. Banarsi Lal, Incharge, Senior Scientist- cum-Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher- e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) has been hon- oured with the Best Scientist Award and Honorable Jury Mention Certificate Award (International Achievement Award) by the Education Expo TV (EET CRS) in the Sixth Academic Achievement Awards (AAA)-2018 category on the basis of his exceptional achievements and accomplish- ments in the field of agriculture and allied sectors. The DDC directed ARTO Rajouri to provide hassle free transport facility to the visiting devo- tees especially buses shall be made available from Rajouri to Shahdrashrief. Accordingly, PHE Department has been direct- ed that apart from uninter- rupted water supply, mobile tankers must be kept ready to avoid any exigency. Chief Medical officer informed that one ambulance will be kept ready and medical camps will be setup during Urs days. Similarly R&B Department was directed to make neces- sary repair of the road approaching to the shrine if required. To ensure clean atmosphere during Urs days, the DDC impressed upon the Executive Officer Municipal Committee Thanmandi to keep premises clean garbage free and polythene free. Rajouri Admn finalises Urs arrangements STATE TIMES NEWS POONCH: Dr Shehnaz Ganai on Sunday provided funds for the construction of a place within the District court Complex in Poonch for the lawyers to facilitate them to attend to the litigants. The demand for the construction of appropriate place for the lawyers was projected recently by the Bar President Advocate Zaman. Bar Association members, briefed MLC regarding their day to day problems mainly in connection with construction of chambers. KATHUA: A team ofPolice Station HiranagarKathua arrested a driveraccused of causing deathof three persons in an acci-dent and managed to fleeaway from the spot.

Incident took place nearKatal Gujrian SherpurHiranagar when a driverof matador ( JK02S-6875) coming fromRajpura Ghagwal toSherpur Hiranagar, driv-ing rashly and negligentlyhit a two wheeler (JK08C-8974) causing death ofthree persons riding onmotorcycle. The deceasedwere identified as RamDass son of NarsinghDayal resident of Kootah,Anita Devi widow ofSanjay Kumar and herdaughter Pallavi residentof Kootah.

The arrested driver iden-tified as Ashok Kumar sonof Sardar Chand residentof Nai Basti JandiHiranagar was arrestedand a case under relevantsections of law was regis-tered in the incident.

STATE TIMES NEWS KISHTWAR: DeputyInspector General of PoliceDKR Range Rafiq-Ul-Hassam held a crime reviewmeeting of Police Sub-Division of KishtwarChatroo , Marwah andAtholi.

During the meeting DIGDKR Range Rafiq-ul-Hassan examined the per-formance of Police Stations.The main focus of the meet-ing was to improve the qual-ity of investigation of acci-dent cases, motor vehicletheft, burglary, NDPS Actand other cases. Besides,missing persons, inquestproceedings, arrest ofabsconders and action takenunder preventive measureswere also reviewed. Theissue of public complaintspending with Police Sub-Division also discussed.

In the meeting DIG DKRRange Shri Rafiq-Ul-Hassan discussed all MVtheft cases one by one. Headvised SHO for finalisation

of the pending cases/publiccomplaints to give the reliefto the general public. DIGpersonally checked the casefiles of heinous offences andtook serious note of it anddirected I/Os for speedy dis-posal of cases assigned tothem for conducting theinvestigation. He alsoadvised the police stationsstaff to conduct footpatrolling in their respectivejurisdictions. The investigat-ing staff was also directed toconduct the investigation ofcases with zeal, dedicationand with transparency at an

earliest possible time in thepublic interest and bring thependency to the minimum.

Similarly R&B Departmentwas directed to make neces-sary repair of the roadapproaching to the shrine ifrequired.
