Do we need to takenutritionalsupplements?
Most Australians do notconsume enough essentialvitamins, minerals, nutrientsand Omega 3 oils throughtheir diet alone because:
Many people do notconsume a balanced diet
Most fruit, vegetablesand grains that we eatare treated withfertilisers, pesticides, andpreservatives. These
treatments generallyresult in reducednutritional content.
The nutritional content ofcommercially farmedfish, poultry, beef, lamband pork is oftencompromised by growthhormones andunbalanced animal feeds
Most food that we eat ishighly processed bymachines and in many
cases it is heated to hightemperatures resulting inreduced nutritionalcontent
Many foods are storedin sub-optimalconditions resulting inreduced nutritionalcontent e.g. frozen for
long periods of time orleft in too hotconditions
To get all the essentialnutrients that we require,we need some nutritionalsupplements.
Why take a goodmultivitamin and mineralsupplement? Busy people require
nutrients not gettingfrom diet
Improve immunefunction
Reduce risk of heartdisease Reduce the risk of
some cancers Reduce risk of diabetes Slow down the rate of
osteoporosis
Why take a good Omega3 fish oil supplement? Healthy nervous system Improve brain function &
eyes
Improve cell membranes Reduce risk of heart
disease
It can also help prevent ortreat: Asthma
Bronchitis High blood pressure Heart disease
Arthritis
Depression Hot flushes
Crohns disease Alzheimers disease Attention Deficit Disorder
(ADD) Some forms of cancer Diabetes
