YQCA Update

Changes for 2017-2018 4-H Year: Iowa 4-H is offering a new addition to the FSQA program called YQCA (Youth for the Quality Care of Animals). YQCA is an online training program so youth can get certified at home. YQCA requires all youth to recertify every year.

YQCA is not a replacement for FSQA, it is an additional option. FSQA is not scheduled to

transition out until at least 2019 (at the earliest) and revision to the existing curriculum is still an option

after that.

Greene County will not be switching to YQCA permanently. We will still offer the FREE FSQA Face to Face and Test Options until otherwise specified. If you take the test this year, it will be good until at

least 2019.

If youth would rather take the online YQCA Program starting in 2018, please feel free to do so and it will

be promoted as well. It will cost $12.00 per youth per year to complete the YQCA Program. I will also have one YCQA face-to-face option for anyone that would

like to attend the training with the newest curriculum. The face to face YCQA will cost $3.00 per

youth per year to complete.

If youth plan to attend World Pork Expo they MUST take YQCA

Greene County STEM To Go Kits

different STEM To Go Kits that are available for youth, leader or community partners to check out and use.
