The Anne Morris boutique, in Getliffe’s Yard, Leek, selected four outfits in the shade, modelled here by 38-year-old beautician Ruth Higgins, who owns The Works salon in Leek I’VE mentioned before in this blog about some really useful make-up palettes that are currently available, and if you are looking for a new eyeshadow or two (or 14), then the Smashbox Full Exposure palette would be a great buy. This palette offers 14 different neutral colours, seven matt and seven shimmers. An eyeshadow palette like this is superb as it offers the user variety. You can create a dramatic night look with the darker more shimmery colours, or have a classic day look with the brown and beige matts. The eyeshadows are really highly pigmented and last well throughout the day, so you don’t have to worry about your look fading, although I always recommend using an eye primer, with whatever eyeshadow you decide on, just for extra insurance. This palette is useful for those of you who are new to make-up too, as included in the set is an eye chart, which explains how best to apply the eyeshadows according to your eye shape. Not only that, but there is a free mascara with the palette too. I’ve used this palette a lot recently, and it offers some wonderful colour choices for my brides-to-be. I would say this is definitely worth investing in if you are looking for some new wedding make-up. BARGAIN BUY ASSISTANT marketing manager Emma Leech is a self-confessed bargain hunter. THE 27-year-old, of Clayton, admits she spends as little as possible on trying to look good. Emma, who works at The Regent theatre, in Hanley, said: “I like to look good for work, but I don’t want to spend a lot so I tend to shop in Primark for nice little outfits. “When I go to work I like to dress like myself and not like I’m wearing a uniform, so it’s quite a good place to go. “I wear a lot of dresses day- to-day, so I like to wear them for work too. “The outfit I’m wearing now is mostly from Primark, my dress was £10 and my cardigan was £6. “I got my shoes and bag from Barcelona when I was shopping on my honeymoon.” Emma added: “I mostly shop in Hanley, but I also travel to Manchester a lot to visit my family, so I shop there too, I probably go every weekend. “I spend no more than about £60 on an average shopping trip if I can help it.” Read more about fashion and beauty at thesentinel.co.uk IT IS a constant quest to find the perfect long lasting lipstick. So I decided to try two of the new lipsticks by Rimmel London. I chose Rimmel Provocalips 16hr kiss proof lip colour in Kiss Me You Fool, and Apocalips Lip Velvet in Orange-ology. I love bold red lips, but they can be hard to keep looking good all night through. I tried Rimmel Provocalips last Saturday night and I was very impressed. The colour is a gorgeous, intense glossy red colour. First, you apply the intense colour and then the lock and shine over to make the lipstick 16hr kiss proof. It lasted all night and looked just as perfect at the end as when I put it on.
