AOS03III optical transmission platform chassis
Introduction
AOS03III platform chassis is standard 19-inch rack-mounting
with 3U high. The chassis provides 13 module slots for two power
supply modules, one control and network management module
and ten application modules. A variety of application modules are
available for flexible configuration. The modular design supports
modules plug-and-play and blind-plug. Application modules can
be installed to any universal slots (10) and automatically
identified by a control module.
The chassis adopts passive rear panel design, blindmate RF connector, which avoids cumbersome maintenance
procedures of power-off, disconnecting and reconnecting cables and other operations. The chassis supports
single power supply module and dual power supply for hot back-up. Unique low-consumption technology helps
achieve a total consumption of no more than 360W of a full loaded chassis. Moreover, the forced
convection cooling system features monitoring status of each fan. It eases replacement work and
ensures long-time stable operation.
Each module can be monitored by a control module or a network management module with a large TFT
LCD display or on a remote monitor through standard SNMP network management system. CAN technology
supports stacking of multiple chassis, as a SNMP network management agent. The Operator can use a network
management module to manage all chassis. This helps save IP address resources and the network management
investment. Operating parameters of each module are backed up in the control module. The operator can reset
them or restore them to replacement applications modules, which is very convenient for platform configuration.
All modules support software online upgrades. Operations can be done on local control panel as well as
our SNMP-compliant network management software-SysManager.

AOS03III-C Control module /AOS03III-CM network management control module
Introduction
AOS03III-C is only for local control, installed in one of the horizontal
slots of AOS03III chassis. With a SNMP network management module
inside, AOS03III-C upgrades to AOS03III-CM network management
control module. An AOS03III platform has at least one AOS03III-C
control module, while SNMP module can be added when it is needed.
AOS03III-C/CM module has in front a large full-color TFT LCD display
screen, operations buttons, the power status indicator and a RS232
port, and on the back an RJ45 port for SNMP networks management
and a CAN connection port.
The control module is not only a human-machine interface (HMI), but also a gateway for all application modules.
After configuration, the operating parameters are stored in the application modules and backup in the control
module as well. AOS03III-CM module can collects data from local HMI or remote SNMP management server and
forward it to the application modules, extract data for each modules to display on the local LCD screen, or
forward it to a remote SNMP management server. Several AOS03III-C control modules connected by CAN wire
can be stacked and connect to a AOS03III-CM as a SNMP network management agent. The management control
module features classic button layout, innovative large screen full color TFT LCD display, fashionable menu
(English and Chinese) and user-friendly operation. It has a backup of parameters of all modules, which help
restore the configuration parameters or configure new replacement modules easily. Operators can complete
software upgrade of the machine and application modules locally (from the RS232 port) or remotely.

AOS03III-PSAC/PSDC power supply module
Introduction
Power supply modules are installed in two special vertical slots of the
chassis. The module front panel has one cooling fan, one power switch
and one buckle. The back panel has a power socket, auto-locking device,
fuse bases (one spare base). The module has delicate protection circuits,
including overload protection, over-voltage protection, short circuit
protection, overheating protection, time delay activation. Single or dual
(backup) power supply can be monitored on display of local control
module or remotely by standard SNMP network management software.

AOT03-31 series optical transmitter module
Introduction
AOT03-31 optical transmitter module takes up one AOS03III slot. One chassis can have
high installation density of 10 transmitter modules. The module front panel has a status
indicator, a RF test port (TP) and an optical output port. The back panel has blind-mate
RF connectors and a power/signal connector. It is easy to install and maintain.
Taking advantages of brand GaAs module and low power consumption design, the heat
value reduces to a very low level, which greatly improves the product stability. Input
level controlled by AGC can automatically achieve the best performance, while manual
adjustment is an option (MGC) to meet user specific requirements. Independent
narrowcast input port is available to mix RF signals for optical transmission.
Exclusive pre-distortion correction technique minimizes the nonlinear distortion. Excellent laser precise control
program includes heating and refrigerating control, electric on-off sequence control, hot-swapping control,
power-off control, ensures the laser diode a long life-span with stability.
The total intelligent design automatically regulates these functions. The module can be monitored and
controlled by a local control module or remote SNMP management software to meet user’s needs.

AOR03-31/32 optical receiver module
Introduction
AOR03-31/32 optical receiver module take ups one AOS03III chassis slot. It supports
dual-path backup automatically. A chassis can install ten receiver modules, up to 20
optical inputs and 10 paths RF outputs. The front panel has a status indicator, a RF test
port, optical input ports, and back panel has a blind-mate RF connector and a
power/signal connector. The installation and maintenance is very easy. Taking
advantages of brand GaAs module and low power consumption design, the heat value
stays at a very low level, which greatly improves the product stability.
This module has two independent RF paths with two independent optical AGCs and electronic AGCs, and ASC RF
output control, which ensures stable output level. Two independent paths of optical control and electronic
control RF switching circuits are hot backup, either optical input signal or electrical input signal is faulty, the
machine can switch to the other path. This ensures uninterrupted signal transport, and the switching threshold
can be set by users. Output level and equalizer can be adjusted for easy level distribution and cable transmission.
The total intelligent design automatically regulates these functions. The module can be monitored and
controlled by a local control module or a remote SNMP management software to meet user’s needs. This high
performance receiver module is particularly suited to head-end use and self-healing network.

Introduction
AOR03R-31 reverse optical receiver module take ups one AOS30III slot. It supports
four-path independent reverse optical inputs. A chassis can install 10 receiver modules,
up to 40 optical inputs and 40 RF outputs. The front panel has a status indicator, a RF
test port, optical input ports, and back panel has blind-mate RF connectors and a
power/signal connector. The installation and maintenance is very easy. Taking
advantages of brand GaAs module and low power consumption design, the heating
reduces to a very low level, which greatly improves the product stability.
The RF channel has independent optical AGC and output level adjustment function, which ensure stable output
level. It features wide dynamic optical receiving range, high output level, low noise and high nonlinear ratios to
meet various kinds of applications. It automatically shut off RF output when optical input is not available. This
greatly suppresses the gathering noise for easy online hot backup. Each RF channel can be manually switched

AOT03R-31 reverse optical transmitter module
Introduction
AOT03R-31 reverse optical transmitter module features low noise and adjustable gain
control, simple structure, low power consumption, APC control and high reliability. It is
applicable for 1310nm or 1550nm reverse fiber optical transmission system. The built-in
microprocessor achieves real-time monitoring of the laser working status and output
power. When reverse optical transmitter module operates in abnormal status, it will be
reported by the status LED or through the data bus with corresponding alarm
information. If a serious alarm occurs, the microprocessor will automatically turn off the
laser. Users can monitor the transmitter and run fault diagnosis by a network
management control module.

AOT1550-02-31/32 Erbium-doped fiber amplifier module
Introduction
Erbium-doped fiber amplifier module features low noise and high gain, simple structure,
and high reliability. It is applicable for 1550nm fiber optical transmission system. The
built-in microprocessor achieves real-time monitoring of pump laser working status and
input/output power. When the amplifier module operates in abnormal status, it will be
reported by the status LED or through the data bus output corresponding alarm
information. If a serious alarm occurs, the microprocessor automatically turns off the
lasers to protect the module. Users can monitor the amplifier module and run fault
