About IPLC2017The International Physical Literacy Conference (IPLC)is designed to bring together sport, health, education and recreation experts and practitioners, and policy-makers from across Canada and aroundthe world. A conference of this caliber is paramountas childhood obesity and rising inactivity amongchildren threatens the future health of many nationsaround the world. For kids to get physically active, they need to feel confident in activity settings. Thatconfidence stems from having learned fundamentalmovement skills and fundamental sport skills –physical literacy – as a child.
About Sport for Life SocietyThe Sport for Life Society is recognized as the globalexperts on the Canadian Sport for Life Movement,Long-Term Athlete Development, and physicalliteracy development. The purpose of the CanadianSport for Life Movement is to improve the quality ofsport and develop physical literacy.
