Hoof Beats by the Club President
Well, here we are in the middle of summer and I trust that you are all enjoying the season and hopefully
you are getting out for a vacation or just relaxing. Projects that affect the community and quality of life are
evident and outlined below. Certainly something noted will affect your home life in some way.
The City of Anaheim recently approved the beginning stages for building a food digesting facility,
also known as a Sustainability Center, at the corner of Lakeview and Orangethorpe on the border of
Yorba Linda, Anaheim, and Placentia. The four stacks will be release gas from rotten food into the
surrounding neighborhoods. Residents are wondering what in the world Anaheim is thinking and
are understandably concerned about their future quality of life, air quality, and property value. An
elementary school is less than a half mile away, local businesses and eating establishments are
located adjacent to the proposed facility. Satay tuned for upcoming meetings where your voice can
be heard.
Gun Clud Road Ribbon Cutting, 9 am, Saturday, August 13, 2016. We are invited to show up in the
saddle. Please contact me if you and your horse would like to attend.
We are in a holding pattern regarding ETCO, waiting for them to get back to us with their final
plans for a Senior Housing/Memory Care Facility.
Esperanza Hills had a BIG Victory, enough to put the project on hold, hopefully indefinitely. For
details go to http;//www.protect-our-homes-and-hills.org/
Keep an eye on Bastanchury/Plumosa = Plans for 210, 3 story homes.
Taking Casper’s Camping trip date suggestions for this Fall. If you would like to attend, send in a
date or two that works for you.
Last Sunday of the month trail rides will resume when the cooler weather arrives.
Judy Holck continues to improve every day. Please keep Judy and Dave in your prayers and wish
Judy a Happy Birthday on July 31st!
YLCR Horse Show was a HUGH success! THANK YOU to all that made the day run smoothly.
We couldn’t provide these Shows without you help and participation.
How would you feel about the Paxton arena receiving a roof? We want to hear from you. Just think,
we would ride 365 days a year in cooler and dryer conditions.
Watch for Placentia Parade news to come, October Parade.
Happy Trails,
Dee Dee Member Alert!
If you have a horse stall(s) or
know of any in Yorba Linda,
