Merger of RIL & IPCL
• June, 2002 Government divested 26% share to Reliance Industries Ltd. for Rs. 1,440 Crore.
• RIL Increased its stake to 46% in IPCL
• Total cost of merger:- Rs. 2,641.45 Crore
• Date of merger:- 5th September, 2007
• As a result, RIL's equity will expand to Rs 1453.6 crore from Rs 1394 crore
• In August 2006, IPCL merged with six polyester manufacturing companies • Apollo Fibres• Central India Polyesters• India Polyfibres• Orissa Polyfibres• Recron Synthetics• Silvassa Industries with IPCL.
