About IDGA
Here is what people aresaying about IDGA’svehicle events:
“Well presented with detailedinformation.” – Program Manager,BAE Systems Land Systems
“Fascinating insights – well presentedand organized.” – Consultant, DRSTechnologies
“Excellent presentation. Very happyto see IDGA bringing in top engineersand scientists to discuss solutionswith various materials.” - VP &General Manager, Industeel USA
“Very good!” – BusinessDevelopment Manager, BAE Systems
IDGA’s flagship vehicle event, Tactical Vehicles Summit, is proud to be in its third yeardiscussing the most pressing issues of today’s vehicle community.
This premier event brings together military end-users, OEMs, and industryprofessionals to discuss, evaluate, and lay the ground work for technology solutionsand acquisitions in tactical and combat vehicle platforms. Discussions will take placeunder the backdrop of President Obama’s announcement to send an additional 30,000 USTroops to Afghanistan - an increase that will put nearly 100,000 US Troops in Afghanistanbefore the end of Summer, 2010. This troop increase has serious and urgent implicationsfor US Forces. The Afghan rugged and mountainous terrain requires an immediateinvestment in armored vehicles with exceptional mobility.
As new vehicle platforms emerge to meet the military’s needs and challenges, technology problems with ballistic requirements, logistics, and vehicle armor comeinto view.
IDGA’s 2010 Tactical Vehicles Summit will feature keynote and general sessionbriefs with a focus on Army and USMC vehicle modernization, as well as currentinitiatives for the next three years. IDGA’s 3rd Annual Tactical Vehicles Summit focuseson the challenges ahead for the M-ATV, MRAP, and FMTV including what will be done inthe future development of the vehicles.
2010 Program highlights include:• The latest detailed updates on the M-ATV in Afghanistan• A Tactical Vehicles exhibit area!• A Vehicle Health & Sustainment Focus Day• And partnerships with industry and military counterparts for upgrades and new initiatives
Do not miss this unique opportunity to network and forge new partnerships with your peers!Reserve your place now to be among the key stakeholders in the Tactical Vehicles Community.

Intelligent Maintenance Systems (IMS) for Military VehiclesThe IMS Center has pioneered many advances in prognostics technologiesincluding the Watchdog Agent (autonomic prognostics computing on a chip)technology for military vehicles. This workshop will look at key researchactivities focused on four fundamental areas: 1) informatics tools to transformmachine condition data to health information; 2) advanced prognosticsalgorithms for product performance degradation assessment and prediction;3) integrated software and hardware platforms that think, link, reconfigureand sustain for resilient performance; 4) closed-loop product design andoptimization through the use of product embedded service information.
How will you benefit: • Discover how to enable products and systems to achieve, and sustain,
near-zero breakdown performance• Learn the latest on "predict and prevent" methodology
What you will learn: • How to secure business alliances through collaborative testbeds• What new high-impact emerging technologies are being validated • The use of intelligent e-maintenance systems
Session Leader: Dr. Jay Lee, Director, NSF Industry/UniversityCooperative Research Center on Intelligent Maintenance Systems(IMS), Department of Mechanical Engineering, University ofCincinnati

Full Spectrum Ground Operations: MRAP C4ISR10:00am – 12:00pm
8:00am – 10:00am
This session will present the current issues and challenges facing providers oflife cycle sustainment and maintenance of Ground Mobility Platforms in anevolving/changing global Combat Support/Combat Service Supportoperational environment. The session will also cover the potential impact ofchanging priorities impacting on the DoD budget and mission supportrequirements.
What you will learn: • Enhanced situational awareness for the MRAP• Secure wireless communication applications for tactical vehicles• Advancements in off-road navigation for rugged terrain
Session Leader: Pete Ward, MRAP, Project Engineer, SPAWAR SystemsCenter – Atlantic
How to Best Meet the Needs for Combat Support Readiness
The Asset Visibility (AV) Program 1:00pm – 3:00pm
Our mission is to provide a joint logistics capability that collects and fusesinformation from multiple Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Military Service, and U.S. Transportation Command systems, providing users with a timelyand accurate report of the location, movement, status, and identity of units, personnel, equipment, and supplies in the global distribution logisticspipeline. Learn how this is achieved in the vehicles sector.
How you will benefit:• Increase readiness through visibility of lateral support and DoD excess
opportunities
• Reduce re-ordering with status of items in storage, process, transit, ortheater
• See inventory mapping and low-bandwidth options What you will learn: • How to harness low bandwidth systems for the warfighter• Increasing visibility for maximized utilization of assets• New AV remote scenarios and solutions
Session Leader: Rick Odden & Karen Blanck, Asset Visibility (AV)Program Management Office, Defense Logistics Information Service(DLIS)
The Latest on Logistics and Acquisition for Vehicle Sustainment
New Innovations On Diagnostic And Prognostic Development For Tactical Vehicles 3:00pm – 5:00pm
Learn about a technology that detects damage to critical suspensioncomponents in military vehicles simply by driving over a speed bump-like"diagnostic cleat" containing sensors. The aim of this technology is to savetime and maintenance costs by catching damage before it leads to failure inthe field. This system measures vibrations created by forces that a vehicle's tiresapply to the cleat. Damage is detected in the tires, wheel bearings, andsuspension components by using signal processing software to interpret thesensor data. By using the instrumented cleat and other "condition-based"maintenance methods, the military could reduce costs by performing work onvehicles when needed based on the condition of parts instead of performingscheduled maintenance on vehicles regardless of whether they need the work.
How you will benefit • Enhance maintenance and supportability for tactical vehicles • Improving tactical fuel monitoring and management • Delivering embedded diagnostic & prognostic development
What you will learn:• Classic data fusion techniques for RUL estimation• Prognosis of dynamic components • Prognosis logistics of dynamic components
Session Leader: Dr. Ling Rothrock, Professor of Industrial Engineering,Pennsylvania State University
