E-waste also contains toxic and hazardous materials including mercury, lead and chemical flame retardants, which have the potential to leach into our soil and water.

Environmental Hazards: Old models of TV & Computer Monitors, contain poisonous metal –lead.

Dumping of consumer electronics contributes to approximately 40 percent of the lead in landfills.

Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) emits chlorinated dioxins and furans, when it is disposed.

Cadmium and mercury, found in the monitors of obsolete desktop PCs, contaminates ground water if
