WMP have enjoyed working with 3M and providing creative support for 25 years. Our work has covered the areas of exhibition design and production, video production, animation, campaign planning and implementation.

100% Design Show

In collaboration with Todd Bracher Studio in New York, WMP created this showcase of the latest product innovations for architectural markets from 3M. Products on display at the exhibition included a preview of the ultra-sophisticated lighting innovations designed by Todd Bracher; shimmering, colour-shifting Dichroic Glass Finishes; Di-Noc architectural finishes; and Fasara glass finishes.

Window Film Animation

Our goal was to provide 3M with a short animation that would help to relay key information about 3M Window Films in a friendly and engaging manner. In addition, the animation had to be easily translated across many European and Arabian languages.

All of the illustration, story boarding, scriptwriting and animation was provided in house by our UK team. The animation has proved to be a cost-effective tool for 3M.

Infosecurity Exhibition

A corner stand which we designed and built to promote 3M privacy films at the Infosec show. The Infographic style was designed to present the key statistics and details in a simple and quick way.

FESPA

A new and eye-catching concept for 3M Commercial Graphics: the ‘3M Street’, allowed us to show the wide and diverse range of Commercial Graphics products in real-life situations. We built a full street of shop fronts created with 3M film, and featuring the range of 3M products on shop windows, on a brick wall, and even within a trendy café interior. The street was completed with vehicles – including a van and the added ‘wow’ factor of a brand new model of Fisker sports car.

Cartes

The challenge for the Security Systems team was to demonstrate 3M’s expertise throughout the whole range of processes from creation of materials, through to enrollment, issuance, and authentication. We designed a stand with a circular flow around the space, whilst bearing in mind the budget constraints, and not attempting to create too many complex curves.

Business Class Campaign

This concept was developed to encourage loyalty through “membership” to the Business Class exclusive club. Members sign up to the club in return for discounts, tools, special offers, etc. An email campaign drove traffic to the site and promoted membership.

What Next for Mobile U?

WMP devised the Mobile U campaign to promote the 3M range of products aimed at the mobile business professional. Individuals were encouraged with prize draws to sign up on the Mobile U website. Their friends and colleagues were incentivised to sign up and enter a competition with the chance of winning vouchers and MPros mini projectors.

A variety of supporting tools including product videos, a PR and email campaign and the use of online bloggers drove traffic to the site. Product seeding was also used to generate product reviews. The campaign was also utilised on exhibition stands.

Gadget Show Live

Having worked on the MP120 and 150 and 180, we used the Gadget Show to launch the 3M Pocket Projector MP 180 to consumers.Our films for the Pocket Projector range run on YouTube and are also used both at stands such as this and at meetings and sales visits.

BETT Show

WMP developed ‘Lucy’ The virtual presenter using 3M Vikuiti film applied to an acrylic cut out to provide a real attractor to the stand at BETT. She was such a success, she was re-used at a further four shows!

Mach Exhibition

Another show which used ‘Lucy’ the virtual presenter as an attractor to the stand, this exhibition demonstrated the wide range of 3M personal protective equipment available for welders.

EE-TV Awareness Campaign

An innovative way to promote the use of 3M’s digital brightness enhancing film was this campaign promoting the importance of energy efficiency in televisions. This campaign website designed and created by WMP was aimed at influencing legislators to encourage them to develop a rating system for TVs, therefore indirectly promoting the DBEF film.

Traffex Exhibition

Traffex is an international exhibition for the traffic management, road safety, parking, highway maintenance and transportation industry.

This was a purpose build exhibitions concept which showcased many of the products lines appropriate to the travel industry.

We created the 3M cafe totally with DiNoc on every surface, and Fasara on the glass surfaces to showcase the range of finishes and applications available.

24: Viral Video

How do you create an engaging demo about 3M Privacy Film given 45 minutes on a train and limited editing time? Our solution used the ‘24’ format, featuring our noble 3M client as Jack Bauer…

The film runs on YouTube and has also had considerable use off line.

Privacy Invaders Campaign

Our 2007 campaign for Privacy Filters utilized a 50s-style “Sci-Fi” movie theme to give the campaign a personality. We focused on three high footfall locations with an emphasis on targeting the finance industry - Edinburgh, Leeds and London Liverpool Street railway stations. A small stand was supported with advertising, flyers and giveaways and a flash website to record where the product was seen.

“Feeling Exposed?” Campaign

This campaign for Privacy Filters developed ‘Gavin’, a business person who feels naked without his Privacy Filter. The campaign included trade press ads, airline seat-back advertising, a 1month campaign at London City Airport, a sample request site and an exhibition stand at Infosecurity.

Lichtenstein Campaign

Our 3 day campaign at Victoria station in 2006 was designed to raise awareness of shoulder surfing, and to demo privacy filters to commuters. The eye catching Lichtenstein style graphics were developed to communicate the messages simply. The stand was supported with advertising on the London Underground.

FESPA

How do you engage an audience and promote understanding of a wide range of products?  You land a spaceship in an exhibition hall!  In order to create maximum traffic and understanding of the wide range of 3M Scotchprint Graphics products, we designed and built a spaceship for 3M’s exhibition stand at Fespa in Munich.  Featuring aliens landing and investigating products so hot that they must have come from another planet, the effect was extremely memorable.  The show monopolised the hall and generated maximum interest.

International Casino Exhibition

3M Touch’s presence at the International Casino Exhibition was a key component in the marketing mix for both maintaining awareness and generating valuable new business leads.  We managed all aspects of the stand design and build including theme creation, 3D design, stand graphics, bespoke build and supporting literature.  We also created flash animation video production and development of an interactive game, as well as providing complete project and logistical management including staffing, uniform and hospitality.

Ce-BIT

The 3M Touch Systems stand at Ce-BIT in Hanover showcased a new look and feel that we created. We flowed this elegant style into a video for the show, a brochure, published in 6 languages, a new video and other marketing collateral.

WMP did a superb job managing the 100% Design project.
