Subject: Regarding License and freature limitation of Ericsson Node B.

As per the above mention subject the following limitation is observed in the license key file(LKF) provided by Ericsson.

1. HSDPA users per cell is limited to only 4. M/S Ericsson provided new P7 licences in all Node Bs but stiil there is no increase in HSDPA user capacity . License with at least 16 HSDPA users per cell should be provided.

2. EUL is also supported from P6 version, but present P7 licenses does not include EUL feature. One basic difference between Node Bs having EUL feature and not having EUL feature is that User in Node B's having EUL licence can download and upload simultaneously while User in Node B's without EUL licence cannot download while uploading. Also user will get upload speed upto 1.3 Mbps in Node B's having EUL & upto 384 Kbps only without EUL. Enhanced Uplink(EUL/HSUPA) implementation will also reduce the round trip time with DNS server , FTP server and PDN(packet Data Network). Least round trip time observed in node B's having EUL feature is 60ms in comparison to 85ms in node B's not having EUL feature.

3. One more important feature if 2ms TTI. Presently In RNC as well as in Nobe B, 10ms TTI is implented. But 2ms TTI is supported from P6 version and it is yet to be implemented. For implementing 2ms TTI also license in RNC as well as in Node B must be upgraded.The use of a shorterTransmission Time Interval (TTI)of 2ms, enables higher transmission speed in the physical layer and channel quality of user reported to RNC at 2ms rate.

If new licences with all the above mentioned capacity and features are provided in all Node Bs & RNCs and parameters are changed accordingly then a dats user will experience Enhanced performance.
