J e CA ?

Judson Early College Academy (JECA) isthe result of an eleven-yearpartnership between Judson ISD andAlamo Colleges - Northeast LakeviewCollege (NLC).  Located on the NLCcampus, JECA is an early college highschool designed to enable students to earnan Associates of Arts in Liberal Artsdegree and, at the same time, earn a highschool diploma with Distinguished Levelof Achievement.

At Judson Early College Academy, each student is someone that has potential andwe work to develop them to be college and career ready from day one. Last year ourseniors secured about $33 million in scholarships to colleges and universities acrossthe nation. Students will experience life in high school and life as a college studentsimultaneously. All JECA students will have the opportunity to participate inactivities offered by both JECA and NLC as well as those offered at their JISDhome campuses. Students are eligible for club membership at NLC during theirjunior year.  In addition to an engaging day of learning, our school offersprograms like:

Innovative Learning: We emphasize the whole student making connections across subject areaswith both digital and traditional tools. We are a one-to-one school and each student isprovided with a district issued Google Chromebook.A Safe and Caring Environment: This is fundamental at our school. A child must feel safe toreally learn during the day. With small class sizes, students are provided with not onlyacademic support but social and emotional support.Associates Degree: A robust dual credit degree plan emphasis helps students earn college classcredits at Northeast Lakeview College while working on their diploma at no extra expense.Students begin taking dual credit in the 9th and 10th credit and by senior year are consideredfull time college students by taking 12 college hours a semester.A rigorous high school/college experience: We feature a challenging curriculum that bothinspires students and prepares students for the expectations of college courses. Books andtuition are paid for by JISD and NLC, a savings of more than $10,000.Academic support that is unmatched: From day one, students are grouped with a highlyqualified college prep instructor/advisor that is with them until senior year. An innovativecurriculum is put into effect that provides students with academic coaching that prepares themfor the college.
