WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This two and a half day continuing education activity is meant to attract family physicians, primarycare physicians, residents, fellows, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, doctors of pharmacy,and other health care professionals interested in a family medicine refresher course developed by acollaboration of expert faculty and practicing physicians.
OBJECT I VES
At the end of this course the participant should be able to:
� Apply current updated knowledge relevant to problems commonly encountered in a clinical setting.
� Utilize new diagnostic procedures to enhance diagnostic accuracy.
� Apply standard treatment modalities for management of acute and chronic diseases.
� Demonstrate competence in specific clinical procedures.
� Utilize national guidelines to approach commonly encountered clinical conditions.
� Diagnose and treat common dermatologic conditions including common rashes, eczema, acne,rosacea, and skin cancer.

The conference will be held in the Conference Center on the second floor of the Marriott PittsburghCity Center hotel located at 112 Washington Place, Pittsburgh PA 15219.The conference has contracted a limited number of hotel rooms at the Marriott Pittsburgh City

Jonathan Ference, PharmD, BCPSAssociate Professor Pharmacy PracticeWilkes UniversityKingston, PA
Dr. Ference received his Doctorate of Pharmacy from Wilkes University Nesbitt College of Pharmacy andNursing. He completed a specialty residency in Family Medicine and a faculty development fellowship atUPMC St. Margaret, Pittsburgh, PA. Before returning to Northeast Pennsylvania, he spent four years on facultyas an assistant professor at the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy and adjunct assistant professorin the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine Tulsa, OK. Dr. Ference isa board certified pharmacotherapy specialist and manages a referral-based pharmacotherapy clinic, focusingon advanced diabetic education and management and serves as a consultant for the hospital’s FamilyMedicine Team. He has published several book chapters and original, peer-reviewed manuscripts andpresented at international Family Medicine conferences. Dr. Ference’s research interest includes pharmacypreceptor development and pharmacy student curricular development, and Information Mastery.
Rachelle Simon, PharmD, BCPSPharmacist Clinician / Clinical PharmacistFranciscan St. Margaret HealthHammond and Dyer, IN
Rachelle Simon is a clinical pharmacist at Franciscan St. Margaret Health in Indiana. She earned her Doctorof Pharmacy degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 2008 and completed a PGY-1, PGY-2 in FamilyMedicine, and faculty development fellowship at UPMC St. Margaret in 2010. At the University of ChicagoMedicine, she assisted with expansion of the Anticoagulation Management Service and piloted pharmacist-driven medication therapy management. Subsequently, she has joined the team at Franciscan St. MargaretHealth to expand discharge counseling and outpatient clinical pharmacy services. She has presented atnumerous national meetings and co-authored research on the integration of pharmacists into the medicalhome. Her favorite activities are traveling and spending time with her family.
