Happy New Year to you all and hope you had a wonderful Christmas with family & friends. By the look of things the year is off to a great start with 2016 heating up here at Palm Lake Resort Bargara. Stage 4 Display homes have been completed and we have been so busy with 5 sold with our new residents moving in and enjoying their new lifestyle.

Congratulations to Robbo & Sandra our Sales Christmas lights display competition winners

who excelled themselves with an outstanding Christmas garage display and front lawn dis-

play to light up the street and people’s hearts.

We will be holding an Open Day on Saturday 27th February from 10am. There will be Display homes available for you to view all of our designs;- Hibiscus, Gardenia, Rivergum, Outlook, Grande, Pandanas & Flametree with lucky door prizes to be won on the day.

The resident bowls players will be playing from 10am and you may even like to have a bowl at Closest to the Jack, or have a hit on the Golf Simulator. Craft stalls with creations made by our residents will be available in the Ocean Breeze Clubhouse to view. To finish the day off in style Abbalive will be performing after lunch to rock the afternoon away.

Hello Everyone,

Happy New Year to you all. Speaking of the New Year the Social club put on a fantastic ‘Beach Party’ here, there were

quite a lot of residents who attended and dressed for the occasion. The band kept us all hoping and even doing the Limbo.

The next big event was the Australia Day Big Brekkie which was run by volunteers and although I wasn’t here for it, I was

informed by a lot of residents saying how good it was and that the volunteers had done a marvellous job.

The Resident dinners have grown to such a level now that we have to have an extra meal which makes Tuesday Dinner,

Wednesday Luncheon and Thursday Dinner and our usual Bistro on the Friday. This will be commencing as of the first

week in February.

Waza a GOLD winner.

Warren or “Waza’ as he likes to be called recently moved in with his parents and some

snap shots of Wazas’ bowling career were shared. Warren has been playing bowls for

the past 15yrs but only began to get serious the last few years when he joined The

Sporting Wheelies and has been an active team member in the Queensland National

Disability Team . His competitive nature emerged and he won Gold at the champion-

ships. In 2015 he attended the Australian Open section to see how he went and he

surprised everyone and himself by winning a game against world classed able bodies

from around Australia and the world. In the Disabled section he was knocked out after

winning 2 out of 3 games. Warren has fitted in well here at Palm Lake Resort enjoying

the facilities and being an active bowling player and playing snooker & pool.

Friendship Day fundraising

for Cancer for Bundaberg

Cancer region and our new

residents who have not been

playing for long were excited

to play amongst other ladies

and have a fun filled day and

raising money for a great

cause.

A great day was had by some residents exploring our wonderful area around

Bundaberg. They travelled some 300km and took in historic sites, markets

and produce tasting and learning history as they travelled.

Having morning tea and a BBQ lunch together and enjoying each other's

company. A very full and enjoyable day was had by:- Gwenda, Silvia,

Laraine, Cathy, Myrna, Doris and Geoff, Doreen and Col,
