Event OverviewFounded in 1941 as the Northwestern College of Chiropractic, Northwestern Health Sciences University (NWHSU, Northwestern) in Bloomington, MN, has grown in size and influence in the practice of natural health care in Minnesota and beyond. Northwestern offers diverse academic programs, fosters clinical research, promotes individualized instruction, provides faculty development, and establishes standards for clinical competence. Even now with nearly 1,000 students, Northwestern holds to its founder, Dr. John B. Wolfe’s vision—a high-quality, science-based education that prepares practitioners for the ever-growing field of integrative health care.

NWHSU’s mission is to prepare and serve the next generation of professionals and leaders to become vital contributors to the delivery and advancement of health care. Our mission is accomplished through educational excellence, innovative research, evidence-informed patient-centered care, public health advocacy, and collaborative community engagement. NWHSU fulfills its mission via three interdynamic focal points, which embody our Live Healthy, Learn Healthy, Serve Healthy! culture: Academic Programming, Research Initiative/Centers of Innovation, Community Health Clinic Programs.

The alumni golf tournament was started 38 years ago by alumni Zach Kimball and the university’s alumni association. The first tournament was held at Majestic Oaks to bring alumni together for fun and fellowship. In 1998, when John B. Wolfe Sr. passed away, the alumni board voted to rename the tournament in his honor and to highlight his vision for a healthier world. His son, John B. Wolfe, Jr., continues to play in the tournament each year.

In recent years, the university has formed a partnership with Minnesota Chiropractic Association (MCA) to promote and host the tournament. Other supporters and friends of the university have participated in the event and become annual sponsors.

This year, the tournament is returning to where it all began at Majestic Oaks with an expected 120+ golfers. Opportunities to support the tournament include sponsorships, and the donation of raffle prizes or giveaways for golfers.
