IAESTE PROGRAMME
 IAESTE is a professional internship programme.
 IAESTE is open to Higher Education students, but limited to students from our
Local Committees.
 It covers all Engineering branches, and several Exact and Natural Sciences, as
well as other fields such as Architecture, Agronomy, Pharmacy and Veterinary
Sciences, Social Sciences, Sports, etc.
How it works
 A IAESTE is an exchange programme. The number of internships
we receive from Portuguese employers to foreign students are
exchanged with our partners for internships abroad to our students.
 These exchanges take place in the IAESTE Annual Conference.
 All year round through our EP (exchange platform).
THE INTERNSHIPS
 They can take place in universities or companies;
 They have the minimum period of 4 weeks to the maximum of
1 year;
 They are paid internships;
 Accommodation is arranged by the local IAESTE, but the
trainee must pay it.

 To eat
 Public transportation
2. You need to take with you the acceptance papers. It has important
information for you.
My arrival – who is waiting for me?
 You should arrive during the week (from Monday to Friday, not
during the weekend);
 If the IAESTE Local Committee will pick you up at the airport, they
will be identified with an IAESTE poster.
 Some countries (european mostly) do not have the pick up
service. You should take with you all the necessary information
and contacts (from IAESTE, accommodation and employer).
I FINISHED THE INTERNSHIP. WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW?
 Fill in the Trainee’s Report and send it to IAESTE Portugal.
 After submitting the Trainee’s Report you will receive a cheque in
the amount of 50€.
IAESTE TRAINEES SHOULD KNOW:
 You are representing a Country, not an Institution;
 You are IAESTE Portugal trainees.
2ND ROUND OF APPLICATIONS
 In May we will start the 2nd round. If you see at the E.P. an
internship you are interested in, please come to our office!
 There are 2 kinds of offers: FSFS (first come first served), or COBE
offers. For these last the employer will receive several applications
from different countries. The possibilities are not so good!
 The offers we are distributing today were given to IAESTE Portugal!
No one else will have access to them.
Thank you!
