Safety

● Do not open the enclosure when on top of the tank. Ensure you are on the ground. ● The sensor contains internal batteries. Do not open the unit enclosure unless the area is

known to be free of ignitable concentrations. ● Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can damage equipment and impair electrical circuitry.

ESD damage occurs when electronic components are improperly handled and can result in complete or intermittent failures.

● The sensor is intended for fixed installation, where the installation is intended to minimize the risk from ESD.

Installation Steps Make sure you are on the ground and in a safe environment when opening the enclosure unit. Do not open the unit when on top of the tank.

1

Unscrew the outer enclosure fastening screws and open the outer enclosure. Make a note of the IMEI number of the sensor you are installing. This can be found on the sensor label.

The IMEI is found on the sensor label and uniquely identifies the sensor. You can name your sensor in the 360

Tanks application. The IMEI identifier of each unit is also shown in the application settings for each sensor.

2

Open the sensor unit enclosure and plug in the battery to the black battery terminal on the board as shown. Then close the both the inner and outer enclosures.

The LED lights on the unit will start flashing every time the unit takes a reading. Once the battery is connected, this will occur automatically on the sensor reading interval or if you manually swipe with the magnet.

3

Locate and mark suitable position on the tank for the sensor noting the following conditions:

1. The sensor must be mounted horizontally, not at an angle on pitched roof tanks

2. Then sensor must be mounted away from the water inlet

3. Sensor to the maximum liquid level distance must be greater than 300mm for medium range or 100mm for short range sensors. Maximum liquid level is generally the bottom of the overflow outlet height.

4. Sensor horizontal distance to the tank wall must be greater than 500mm

5. On corrugated roofs, mount on the top of the corrugation, not in the channel

6. Drill a 50mm hole at the marked location For your safety, stay on the ladder. Tank manufacturers do not recommend climbing on the tank roof.

4 If the sensor is not already attached to the mount cradle, then assemble the sensor and cradle by:

1. Fix the sensor to the mount by inserting the sensor into the mount hole.

2. Secure the sensor to the cradle by screwing the threaded mount adapter onto the sensor.

5 Screw on the antenna.

Ensure the antenna is vertical after it is attached.

6

Install the assembled sensor and mount onto the tank.

1. Position the mounted sensor over the hole.

2. On pitched roofs, ensure the sensor is horizontal. To do this, loosen the mount wing nuts, adjust the angle of the sensor cradle then re-tighten the nuts. You may also need to swivel the base of the sensor to ensure the cradle is rotating up the slope, not sideways to the slope

7 1. Secure the mount to the tank with the 4 screws. Screw into the mount channel

2. Run a bead of silicone sealant around the threaded adapter in the 50mm hole to seal it.

8

Measure and record the 1. Sensor to Overflow distance in mm 2. Overflow to Base distance in mm

9

Activate your sensors through the 360 Tanks application.

1. Sign in to 360Tanks.com 2. Select the Status chart (the chart shows a

Pending sensor) 3. Find the Pending activation sensor that

matches the IMEI number of the unit you have installed.

4. Select

5. Follow the configuration screens entering in the tank installation measurements you took earlier.

6. Once the configuration screens are complete, your sensor view will now show ‘Waiting for first time connection’.

You can sign in and configure with your phone while still onsite. You can also update the configuration and

measurement settings at any time.

1. Bluetooth 2. Sensor Reading 3. Cellular and GPS 4. Battery

Wake up the unit and force it to take and upload an immediate measurement by tapping the magnet once next to the internal enclosure magnet sticker. The unit will wake up, the LED lights will flash, your first measurement will be taken and uploaded.

Check your tank level measurement on the monitoring application. If you need to adjust the configuration measurements you can anytime through the application by selecting the

sensor from the sensor page (select its name) then select Edit.
