COURTS VENUE

The venue that will host the games is the Centro Cultural La Salle (La Salle Culture & Sports

Centre). La Salle is a worldwide educational institute, present in over 80 countries, including USA,

Canada, Germany, UK, Japan and Australia.

Lunches will be served at the ballroom of this venue, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm daily. Also there

is snack bar available, with sandwiches, snacks, soft drinks, juices and refreshments (alcoholic

beverage not permitted).

HOST CITY

Also the host city of the first ISA World Championship held in Brazil (in 2005), Niteroi is a

municipality of the state of Rio de Janeiro, in the southeast region of the country.

It’s located just across the Guanabara Bay. Only 15 minutes from Rio Downtown, by car or by boat,

it has a population of 497,893 inhabitants. It was founded on 22 November 1573 by the Tupi

Amerindian chief Araribóia. It makes Niteroi the only Brazilian city to have been founded by a non-

Christian, non-assimilated Brazilian Amerindian.

visit just before the Meet N Greet Cocktail on Sunday (23), and the Sugarloaf Mountain (in Rio) in

We begin our two-day tour the following day of the end of the tournament. We will visit two

nearby famous cities: RIO DE JANEIRO & PETROPOLIS

Petropolis: The Imperial City • Saturday, July 29th

Petropolis is a city in the highlands of Rio de Janeiro State, founded by initiative of Emperor Dom Pedro II, to be the summer residence of Brazilian emperors in the 19th century. With a pleasant climate and close to Rio, Petropolis was a perfect escape for the heat of “The Wonderful City”.

We start our Petropolis City Tour in the morning, boarding on a comfortable bus with air conditioning for the one-hour trip from Niteroi to Petropolis. Along the way you can enjoy beautiful scenery with great panoramic views of “Serra dos Órgãos” mountains.

First stop is at the former summer residence of Emperor Dom Pedro II, where the royal family spent long seasons before the Republic Proclamation in 1889. Let's experience a visit to the current Imperial Museum (picture), which preserves a collection of emblematic pieces, like the famous crown of the emperor. The scenario reconstructs the everyday life of the imperial family in the 19th century.

The tour moves on to St. Peter of Alcantara Cathedral. It's an imposing neo-Gothic building, inspired by the French and German cathedrals, where the Imperial Mausoleum has the remains of Dom Pedro II, Empress Teresa Cristina and Princess Isabel. The next destination is Quitandinha hotel, built in 1944 in order to be the largest casino in South America.

We will stop for lunch at a beautiful 19th century building, in Downtown. After lunch, the guide will show the large avenues of the Imperial City and take you to the Crystal Palace, where Princess Isabel used to promote parties and feasts. Our next destination is the house of Santos Dumont. His residence turned into a museum that has a collection of objects, books, letters and furniture. Moving on, let's visit Tereza Street, renowned shopping street in downtown Petropolis, featuring hundreds of stores, that sells own making clothing for a good price.

We end our tour of Petropolis in a delicious and tasty chocolate manufacturing, founded in 1913 it was the pioneer of chocolate easter eggs manufacturing in Brazil. INCLUDED:

Rio: The Wonderful City • Sunday, July 30th

On this tour we will visit the main attractions of Rio de Janeiro and enjoy some magnificent places internationally recognized for its natural beauty and history.

Our city tour in Rio de Janeiro begins towards Corcovado Mountain, where the statue of Christ the Redeemer (picture) is located, one of the seven wonders of the modern world. Then the tour moves on through the Tijuca Forest, where the guide will show the beautiful natural treasures.

We continue the tour through the Olympic Boulevard, the area of the Docks of Rio that was totally renewed for the 2016 Olympic

Games. It has a lot of breathtaking art and culture attractions, including the imposing Museum of Tomorrow.

Our stop for lunch is in an all you can eat upscale steakhouse in Copacabana. The tour continues towards the Sugarloaf complex, to board the most famous cable car, called “Bondinho”. In this same place we visit Praia Vermelha (Red Beach) and the old Urca Casino.

We end our Rio city tour visiting the famous beaches: Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon! INCLUDED:

RECOMMENDATIONS: Although it will be winter, Brazil is a tropical country and Rio can reach 27°C / 80°F in July. So remember to bring your bottle of water and sunglasses, and if you wish, a hat and sun block too. Finally: wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
