The 35 TH Internaonal Geological Congress (IGC) will be held in Cape Town, South Africa from 28 August to 4 September 2016. We cordially invite you to this presgious event, one of the largest Internaonal geological congresses. Every four years the IGC is held under the auspices of the Internaonal Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS). IUGS together with the IGC African Organising Commiee seeks to make this Congress a prime scienfic event. In 2016, it is South Africa’s turn to present this excing event on behalf of the African connent. The event will showcase the region’s geoscienfic superlaves; world-famous geology and geoheritage together with its geological and scenic wonders. All will be discussed during the scienfic debate provided for in an extremely diverse scienfic programme of oral and poster presentaons, workshops, short courses and business meengs.
