SAP Note Header Data Symptom In the variant configuration, if configurable materials are subject to multiple classification where each of the characteristics come from one class at most, it is sometimes possible to improve the performance using the modification described below. The prerequisite is that in class type "300" you select the "No hierarchy" setting in Customizing. The decision on whether you may implement the note, depends on the contents of the note not causing any conflicts. Only you can decide this depending on your modeling. Other Terms Reason and Prerequisites Prerequisites 1. Variant classes without hierarchy 2. Characteristics for multiple classifications occur in one of the classes involved at most in each case. 3. If you intend to use the modification from this note, all classes in the basic data screen must be maintained so that the maximum relevant organizational areas of all classes involved from the multiple classification are specified here. For example: Class C1 with organizational area AB Class C2 with organizational area AB Class C3 with organizational area D If all three classes are used in a multiple classification for a configurable material, the string ABCD must be maintained as an organizational area for all classes in the basic data screen. Solution l Application release 4.6C or lower If you want to use the modification, implement the correction instruction. You can activate the modification by preassigning the value 'X', instead of the value ' ' to the data field g_modif_char_selection in the includes LCEI0TOP and LCTMSTOP. l As of application release 4.6C or higher If you want to use the modification, you need only to set the switch. For Basis Release 6.20 and higher, you must refer to Note 823153.
