ticket in advance as this event sells out every year.TICKETS: $50/Adults, $45/Children (2-12 years), Free/One and under. Members: 10% off . *Includes a Tall Ship Adventure Pass for admission to the Festival. Members receive 10% off when you enter your member I.D. at check-out.
Cannon Battles4:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Sail aboard the Spirit of Dana Point as they engage in the Festival’s most exciting and captivating experience. Join the crew as they harness the power of the wind to maneuver into advantageous positions over the other tall ships. TICKETS: Non-Members: $65/adult, $55/child (4-12 years). Members: 10% off . *Minimum age 4 years.
Sails n’ Ales Kick-Off Party6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Celebrate the start of the 34th Annual Ocean Institute Tall Ships Festival presented by Toshiba with our Sails ‘n Ales Party! Featuring beer tastings from Sierra Nevada, Mother Earth Brew Company, Lost Winds Brewing,Bottle Logic Brewing, Stereo Brewing, Laguna Beach Brewing Company, and Docent Brewing, live music, food trucks, and mermaid encounters, it’s an event the whole family can enjoy!TICKETS: General Admission Pre-Sale: $30/4-Pack Pre-Sale General Admission: $100. Kids Ticket (18 & Younger)/Designated Driver Ticket: $20. At the Door: $40

A Sailor’s Life TourHistoric Maritime Wharf – 10:15 am, 10:45 am, 12:45 pm, 1:15 pm, 2:45 pm, 3:45 pm During this hands-on activity learn to raise sail and handle cargo on our Historic Maritime Wharf. Included with admission.
Tall Ship ToursMaddie James Seaside Learning Center – 10:00 am to 3:00 pm Climb aboard and step back in time. Tour all seven historic tall ships, including the Ocean Institute’s Brig Pilgrim and Spiritof Dana Point and the visiting Californian and Exy Johnson.Please note that the ships will stop tours at 3:00 pm to prep for the cannon battle sails.
Pirate CampBaby Beach – 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Learn from our historic reenactors including blacksmiths, pirates, and more. Enjoy live music from Los Rios Rock School and enjoy a cold beer from the Sierra Nevada Beer Garden.
Naval Historical ShowPilgrim – 11:30 am and 3:30 pm Experience life during the Revolutionary War during this standing room show performed by skilled reenactors on the deck of the Brig Pilgrim.
Seafarer’s LandingMain Lot – 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Explore hands-on science and history throughout the day including candle making, gold panning, knot tying, and more!
Squid DissectionsAt Sea Lab – 10:45 am, 11:45 am, 12:45 pm, 1:45 pm,2:45 pm, 3:45 pm Join our naturalists as we use scientifi c inquiry to discover the internal anatomy of a squid.

Mermaid Story TimeSamueli Center – 11:00 am, 12:30 pm, 2:30 pm Sit back and enjoy an interactive story time with mermaids from Sheroes Entertainment’sMermaids.
Peddler’s VillagePier Lot – 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Enjoy grub and shop the fare of local craftsmen at the Peddler’s Village, featuring avariety of vendors.
The Ocean Institute is pleased to sponsor free shuttles that run directly to the Festival. Parking is free at the
designated shuttle lots located at Strand Vista Park and Dana Hills High School.

Saturday & Sunday: 8:30 am to 8:30 pm
Shuttles run approximately every 30 minutes directly from the shuttle lots to the Festival grounds.
The Ocean Institute, founded in 1977 as the Orange Country Marine Institute, is a community-based 501(c) 3 organization that off ers in-depth Marine Science,
Maritime History, and Outdoor Education Programs. The facility includes state-of-the-art teaching labs, the Maddie James Seaside Learning Center,
two historic tall ships, and an oceanographic research vessel.
Ocean-based exhibits are open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays, along with guided tours Monday-Friday of our labs, historic ships, tidepools, and more. In addition to our award-winning
education programs, the Ocean Institute also off ers family programs, summer camps, cruises, sails, and other unique events throughout the year. To learn more about our ongoing activities and
