Thursday 25 th October 2018 – Issue 16 TERM 4- NO HAT NO PLAY As a Sunsmart school we must protect our students from harsh UV rays. Just a reminder to parents that during Term 4 all students need to wear a broad brimmed hat during recesses and lunchmes. Unfortunately any student who does not have a broad brimmed hat will need to be supervised inside during recess and lunchmes. Please ensure your childs hat is clearly labelled. Many thanks to all parents for their support with this school policy. iPads FOR STUDENTS IN GRADE 3 FOR 2019 In 2019 the Rollins iPad Program will connue to operate. Students who are currently in Grade 2 in 2018 will be asked to purchase an Apple iPad device. We encourage parents to purchase an iPad independently from Target, Big W or PCD in Mercer St. Please ensure the following specificaons are met when purchasing an iPad: Apple iPad 6 th Generaon Wi-Fi 32(GB). Parents may choose to purchase a device with greater specificaons if they wish. 2019 PARENT PAYMENTS School Council has set Parent Payments for 2019 at the following: $150 per child or $100 with a valid Health Card which must be presented at the office. We would appreciate full payment by Friday 14 th December 2018. All pre-paid book packs will be delivered to the children in their classrooms on the first day of Term 1. This week is Assembly Week 3/4D Music Performance REGIONAL ATHLETIC RESULTS Seth McCleish: Phoenix McCleish: 1 st Triple Jump 8 th Triple Jump 3 rd Long Jump Congratulaons to both these students on their achievements. CUSTODY ARRANGEMENTS It is not unusual for families to have custody arrangements that take into account a wide variety of family circumstances. As a school we believe that we manage these arrangements well and the children are always our first consideraon. It is vitally important when custody arrangements are in place that we are provided with copies of any relevant documents such as Court Orders. We are obliged to comply with these legal requirements. Should your personal circumstances change we urge you to contact us promptly so that we are well placed to support your child. CAMP QAULITY PERFORMANCE Our students were extremely fortunate to experience the Camp Quality puppet show recently. This fun acvity was a great way for children to gain knowledge and understanding of this disease. ROLLINS BOOK FAIR 2018 This is a great opportunity to encourage a love of reading. There will be a wide range of books, pens and posters to purchase. The book store will open before school and aſter school only. The Rollins Book Fair will held from: TUES NOV 13TH TO FRIDAY MORNING NOV 16TH. Opening hours will be: BEFORE SCHOOL - 8.30 TO 9AM ( TUES TO FRIDAY) AFTER SCHOOL – 3.30 – 4 PM (TUES TO THURSDAY) We look forward to seeing you all at the Book Fair !

Captain’s Comment What a great couple of weeks it has been for the school! We have had

the Grade ⅚ Lighting Premiership which went really well with the Divi-

sion A T-ball and the Division A Rounders teams both winning the

premiers flag. Also, all the grades had a lot of fun watching the puppets

from Camp Quality learning about what causes cancer, what types of

cancers there are and what types of medicine treats cancer patients.
