Week by Week through The Year of Mercy
Last Sunday’s “Parable of the rich fool” Delivered a
compelling reason to do the right thing—now: “You
fool, this night your life will demand of you” (Luke
12:20). Today, Jesus warns us: “You also must be pre-
pared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of
Man will come” (12:40) in our work for the
kingdom, but also filled with reverent mercy
toward our fellow servants and ourselves.
Hopefully, Jesus’ warning not to get drunk
and beat each other up (12:45) dos not apply
to us literally! But what changes do I need to
make, right now, so that the many people
outside “The Master’s house” will want to
come inside to experience the healing comfort
of Jesus’ own mercy in the compassion of Je-
sus’ modern-day disciples?

The Knights’ Corner The Worthy Grand Knight sends his heart-felt thanks to
the faithful contingent of Knights and parishioners that
set aside some time in their busy lives to participate in
the Year of Mercy’s Pilgrimage to our area’s designiated
church, St. Louis de Montfort in Orcutt. We joined to-
gether to pray the Rosary and then were treated to a homily during Mass
by Fr. Lawrence, who related the current readings to his recent eventful
family visit.
The cadre of Officers for the new Fraternal Year was formally in-
stalled this past week by District Deputy David Waage. We then celebrat-
ed the event in the parish hall with a pot-luck dinner. The team looks for-
ward to working with our Worthy Grand Knight, Earl Severo.
The Council Picnic will be held on Sunday, 14 August, from 1-5 PM
at River Park, Lompoc. For planning purposes, we need to know how
many are coming and whether you are participating in the Dessert Contest,
which is judged in three areas: cakes, pies, and cookies. I know everyone
enjoys the Eating the Dessert Contest! If you have not yet responded,
please call John Zemanovic, or leave a message, at 737-0566. Please call
before Tuesday, 09 August.
Teachers, Teacher’s Aids and office help are needed for
the upcoming school year September 2016. Please call

Religious Education class registrations will start this
weekend!!! August 6th and 7th after each Mass in the
Parish Hall, and again next weekend: August 13th and
14th, also after every Mass in the Parish Hall. Baptis-
mal Certificates must be presented at the time of Regis-
tration. Students who are not Baptized are still eligible
to enroll in Religious Education classes but must make
arrangements for Baptism prior to receiving the Sacra-
ment of First Holy Communion at the Church Office.
Magnificant: Invites all women to attend its quarterly Prayer Breakfast. Msgr.
Richard Martini, will be joining us during the Year of Mercy to
share how the Holy Spirit has moved throughout his priesthood for

Esquina de los Caballeros El Digno Gran Caballero envía sus gracias de corazón al contingente
de fieles de Caballeros y feligreses que dejar de lado algún momento
de sus vidas ocupadas para participar en el Año de la Misericordia
peregrinación a la iglesia designiated nuestra área, San Luis de
Montfort en Orcutt. Nos unimos para rezar el rosario y luego trataron
