    This course is designed to offer an update on the latest research findings and clinical applications in the diagnosis and treatment of eating disorders in children, adolescents, and adults. After reviewing the psychosocial basis for eating issues,different treatment modalities will be considered, as well as psychopharmacologic, nutritional, and medical considerations.How eating disorders impact different age groups and different family members will be discussed through didactic lectures,panel discussions, case presentations, and Q and A. Learning Objectives: At the completion of this course one will be ableto evaluate the latest findings on eating disorders; determine alternative and innovative treatment strategies; examine themedical consequences of eating disorders; develop strategies to determine what treatments work best for which type of disorder; examine eating disorder issues for children, adolescents, adults, and families; evaluate the therapist-clinician interaction; and recognize issues of body image and exercise. This course is intended for all health and mental health clinicians, educators and researchers, and others interested in the course and treatment of eating disorders.

    CONTINUING EDUCATION:PHYSICIANS: The Harvard Medical School is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to providecontinuing medical education for physicians.     SOCIAL WORKERS and FAMILY THERAPISTS: The Collaborative of the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Association of SocialWorkers, and the CT, MA, and RI Chapters of The Association for Marriage and Family Therapy have approved this course for a totalof 14 continuing education credits, 7 credits per day.

    COUNSELORS and EDUCATORS: The Cambridge Health Alliance, Psychiatry Continuing Education Division, is an Approved ContinuingEducation Provider and may offer NBCC approved clock hours for events that meet NBCC requirements. The Cambridge Health Alliancesolely is responsible for all aspects of the program. This program is approved for 14 clock hours, Provider #5444, and is also applicable forCommonwealth of Massachusetts Counseling/Allied Mental Health accreditation and PDP Educator accreditation for a total of 14 credits.
