The BBSQ is geared towards the maintenance of standards in areas such as agriculture, weights and measures, public and envi- ronmental healthcare, and other aspects of assessment. In February 2013, Dr Renae Ferguson-Bufford spearheaded the development of the BBSQ. This means creating nation- al standards based on interna- tional requirements, developing a metrology regime to ensure free and fair trade of goods and services, and building conformi- ty assessment services which include testing, market surveil- lance, certification, and accred- itation of our laboratories and other systems of operations. With the help of local and international partners, BBSQ will ensure that The Bahamas sustains quality living stan- dards, advancing further to- wards globalization.
