Hello,

I am Trevor O'Neal and I am applying for the Associate Game Designer position.

I am a recent graduate from Full Sail University’s game design program, and I am originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I went to high school at Live Oak High School in Watson, Louisiana.

I am an adaptable, understanding, and encouraging person who enjoys inspiring fellow employees to be enthusiastic and enjoy their work environment/

I feel I would be a good fit for the company because of my recent degree training,

my knowledge of gaming culture and many genres of games,

and my past experience in working in the video game industry.

During my time at Full Sail I worked in several fields of expertise to really flesh out my design skills.  From model creation to animation, character design, and level design.  The program gave me what I believe to be a solid foundation to build upon as an entry level candidate in this field.

Previously I worked at Neill Technologies as a technician for their software.  During my timeat this company I learned how to conduct and present myself to customers and users, how towrite SQL for Oracle and Access databases, and how to work in fast paced, stressful work environments with large workloads.

I also worked at Electronic Arts, specifically with the Waystone Games team as a QA Analyst to help create Dawngate, Electronic Arts' attempt at a MOBA game. But also as a QA Tester on Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2013 and NBA Live 2013.

During my time at Electronic Arts I experienced the trials and tribulations of developing a live title.  I have been a part of many experimental ideas, and understand the challenges I would be faced with working on a video game title. Having worked from pre-alpha to final build on a title, I have experienced the intense, fast paced design pipeline, and I understand how to meet goals and expectations in this environment.

I have experience in several communities across several game genres as a player and as a member of a development team. Having worked in a studio I understand what the team would likely value and expect of me. As a long time gamer across several platform generations I know what players would want and expect from a title, as well as how they would like specific design choices for certain areas of the title.

During my free time I designed several characters that can fit in several genres, as well as a board game I had published.

Chayyliel (Chay-Lee El) is a human warrior, blessed by angelic beings, that embodies righteousness and Strength. With her powerful blade she brings holy reckoning upon her foes while controlling her enemies in the nearby area.

Cross is a powerful human brawler that combines his abilities to devastate single target's. Using his punches in combination, he is able to lock down single important targets and remove them from the battle.  Depending on the combinations you were using in the battle, you're able to use an array of devastating finishers on the enemy target.

I also spent my time creating a board game, Heroes of Fate, that has seen some success over the past year. It is the board game rendition of the MOBA genre, taking cues from Defense of the Ancients, Dawngate, Heroes of the storm, and League of Legends. It is a fast paced strategy game that incorporates variable player powers, grid movement, area control, and action point allotment.  It already has several expansions with other characters, creating more options and different ways to play.

Questions for the employer:

1) What is the main area of the game I would be working on?

2) How large is the team I will be working with?

3) On average what would my deadline be to have content finished?

4) What is the rate of pay?

5) When would the start date be?

Thank you very much for your consideration and time, and I hope you have an excellent day.
