    In 2009, New York spent $18,618 perpupil; higher than every other state in per

    pupil spending and $8,000 above thenational average.

    Only 36% of New Yorks 4th and 8th graders are on-grade-level in reading.

    Only 35% of students are college ready. Only 74% of New Yorks students graduate from high

    school.

    83% graduation rate in 107th Assembly district.

    9.6% dropout rate in the 107th Assemblydistrict, compared to 23% statewide.

    Of the Class of 2011, just one in three studentsgraduated from high school ready for college and high-skill careers.
