Arne Jacobsen’s chair model ”3208” was originally designed for the Danish central bank. It is also referred to as the ”Lily” and was first introduced at the Danish furniture fair in 1970. The chair is a result of an extremely complicated process that ensures the perfect curves and hence best comfort.

Our cooperation with Arne Jacobsen dates back to 1934,but it was in 1952 the break-through came with the Antchair. It was succeeded by the 3107 series in 1955. Thispropelled his and Fritz Hansen’s names into furniture history. Arne Jacobsen was and is an admired and outstandingdesigner. While the significance of Arne Jacobsen’s buildingswas less appreciated, his furniture and other designwork have become national and international heritage.

DESCRIPTIONChair for the office or home. Designed by Arne Jacobsen; manufactured by Fritz Hansen.

FINISHThe shell is made of moulded plywood. The wood is laquered, and the chair comes in three colours (red, white & black). The chairs have armrests. The base is 14 mm steel tubes with 4 legs (model 3208) with leg ferrules of black-grey synthetic material; height adjustable swivel base with 5 castors (model 3218).The model 3218 is delivered with 5 standard hard-wheel castors with alu caps.

VARIANTSShell and armrests come without upholstery or in a leather-upholstered version. All finishes can be with two different frames - four legs or with castors. All versions (3208 and 3218) comes with a chromed base.

MAINTENANCEClean the laquered wood shell by wiping with a dry cloth. To remove stubborn spots, use a cloth wrung out in lukewarm water. If this does not remove the spot, a weak solution containing a universal cleaning agent or dish detergent may be used. Afterwards, wipe with a cloth wrung out in clean water and then dry with a dry cloth. The chromed frame can be wiped with a dry or moist cloth and then dried with a dry cloth. The leather is to be cleaned and maintained as specified in the directions that come with the chair or according to the leather manufacturer's instructions.

ENVIRONMENTAL FRIENDLINESS AND TESTINGThe chair can be completely disassembled into parts to be recycled or incinerated.Laquered chairs are surface-treated with a polyurethane varnish that does not give off formaldehyde.EN 1728: strength and durability; test level 2 according to DS/INF 130.EN 1022: stability.

GUARANTEEA five-year guarantee against manufacturing defects in standard products (materials and workmanship). Wear, tear and damage to the product is not covered under this warranty. Claims from end users under the guarantee must be submitted to the vendor from whom the product was purchased.
