TournamenT InformaTIon and CondITIons overvIewThe 31st New Zealand International Seniors Golf Championship will be held at the renowned New Zealand golf course, Pukekoke Golf Club, in the south of Auckland. Golfers from around the world are invited to attend this popular event which sold out in 2012. Golfer numbers are restricted to the first 150 paid entries received. We welcome players to enter the main Open Seniors category which is for men aged 55 years and over, or a reduced programme of 3 days match-play golf for men Super Seniors aged 75 years and over. A women’s competition is also available, with 3 days match play included.

NZ $194 for men aged 55 and over as at the first day of com-petition. Entry includes five days competition golf, complimentary practice round on Sunday 17 February, Tournament Shirt, Welcome Function and Awards Dinner.

Men’s Super Seniors

NZ $165 for men aged 75 and over as at the first day of competition. Entry includes three days competition golf, complimentary practice round on Monday 18 February, Tournament Shirt, Welcome Func-tion and Awards Dinner. Men aged 75 years and over can elect to play in this division or the Men’s Open, but not both.

Women

2013 ProgrammeThe full programme with times, venues and all sponsors will be published in due course. An interim programnme is as follows:

sunday 17 February Registration at the Pukekohe Golf Club with practice times available for Men’s Open Players. The welcome function for all players and partners will be held on Sunday evening and will include local New Zealand refreshments and canapé’s.

Monday 18 FebruaryQualifying 18 hole stroke Play Championship for all Men’s Open Players with practice times for Women and Super Seniors to follow. A full non-playing partners programme will be published.

Tuesday 19 FebruaryRound One of the Match Play Championship commences for the Men’s Open Players followed by the first round of match play for the Women and Super Seniors.

Wednesday 20 FebruaryRound Two of the Match Play Championship commences for the Men’s Open Players. An informal mid-way BBQ function is included as an option for all players and partners – enter on the player registration form.

Thursday 21 FebruaryRound Three of the Match Play Championship commences for the Men’s Open Players, followed by the second round of match play for the Women and Super Seniors.

Friday 22 FebruaryFinals for all three divisions of match play will be held today with the Awards Dinner to conclude celebrating the 31st New Zealand International Seniors Golf Championship.

aCCommodaTIon and TravelWhile there are a number of reasonable motels in the nearby Pukekohe townships, PaR nz Golfing Holidays has completed a full reconciliation of the options and chosen a selection of tournament preferred motels. These are listed on the entry form and include BK Counties Motor Lodge and Touchwood Motor Lodge. Early bookings are recommend as there are also other activities on in the area, such as the V8 car races which will be a huge draw on rooms. These recommended motels are clean and of good quality with very nice proprietors. For overseas players PaR nz Golfing Holidays have very good rates for rental cars and air flights, in and out of Auckland, and / or to other New Zealand golfing destinations pre or post the tournament. Please just ask for options and packages, International players may like to included one or two nights in Auckland city with rounds at Gulf Harbour or Titirangi, and/or onwards travel to Taupo or Queenstown. TournamenT CondITIonsEligibility; Players must be over 55 years of age (men) and 50 years of age (women) as at the first day of the tournament. All players must have a valid handicap and be financial members of an accredited golf club. Only amateur golfers are eligible to enter. Players must also comply with the entry requirements as listed in clause 4 Entries. Players must have a maximum handicap of 24 (men) and 30 (women) although organisers will accept higher handicapped players if the field is not filled. In the case that the tournament is oversubscribed the organisers may limit international entries to 75% of the maximum field, i.e. 96 players.Format; The tournament will be played at the Pukekohe Golf Club. The first 150 paid entries will be accepted. There are 3 divisions: Men’s Open includes an 18 hole Stroke Play Championship with trophies for gross, net and stableford. The Stroke Play Championship draw is done by handicap in divisions of 32. In the Men’s Open Division, for the match play rounds: players are seeded by the gross results of the Stroke Play Championship, in their respective division, into groups of sixteen players. Any tie for the final places will be decided by the gross score from the qualifying stroke play round. Division one will play off the stick – all other divisions will be handicapped match play. Strokes given will be as per the difference between the two handicaps of the players. Matches tied after 18 holes will continue from the respective starting hole.Men aged over 75 may choose to enter the Super Seniors to play 54 holes match play – initial draw seeded on handicap at entry. Women are invited to enter and compete over 54 holes match play – initial draw seeded by handicap. Divisions will be split into even groups of 8 and or 16 to eliminate byes in any division. Entries; All entries must be on the official entry form, complete with full tournament entry fee payment. (NB – additional travel and other arrangements will be priced and invoiced separately). Late entries may be accepted with a late entry fee of $20. Scoring records of all entries will be reviewed for authenticity through the New Zealand Golf Handicapping website. Overseas players are to provide a Club signed official handicap certificate (or provide the necessary web site access to your handicap records if your country lists on the web site). Refunds will only be issued for tournament entries where a player has to withdraw, if received in writing by the closing date of entries, 12 December 2012, less an administration fee. The accommodation deposit will be fully refundable if cancelled in writing prior to the 30 November 2012.Registration; Players must register in person at the Pukekohe Golf Club at the times prescribed in the programme.Practice Times; Practice times can be requested for Sunday 17 or Monday 18 February 2013. Alternative practice times will not be complimentary and will be charged at normal green fee rates.Handicaps; All handicaps are frozen for the week. The tournament committee reserves the right to adjust handicaps from different countries in line with the New Zealand system, after the Stroke Play Championship results.Rules of Play; The Rules of Play shall be the Rules of Golf as approved by the

R & A Limited, together with the Local Rules as drawn up by the Championship Committee.Golf Balls; It is a condition of the Championship that only those balls published in the current list of Conforming Golf Balls issued by the R & A may be used in the Championship. The penalty for the use of a brand not listed is disqualification.Driving Clubs; Driving Clubs: Spring Effect and Dynamic Properties – Appendix ii 4 c (page 159, Rules of Golf applies). Penalty for breach of condition – Disqualification. Motorised Vehicles; During play it is prohibited for a player to ride in or on a motorised vehicle, unless granted permission by the Tournament Committee. Please apply with a valid medical certificate. Penalty 2 strokes in stroke play for each hole where a breach occurs.Pace of Play Guideline; Competitors will be issued with a Pace of Play guideline. It covers your responsibility to retain your place in the field, and an indication of how long you have to play shots. The penalties indicated in the policy will be enforced.Measuring Devices; In this competition a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. However, if, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his/her play (e.g., gradient, wind-speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3 for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used.Code of Conduct; All competitors are responsible for conducting themselves to the high standard expected at New Zealand Seniors Golf Association events. Publicity; PaR nz Corporate Events Limited may arrange media promotion and publicity before, during and after the Championship. Competitors assent to references to them and pictures of them appearing and being used for purposes determined by PaR nz Corporate Events Limited and the New Zealand Seniors Golf Association.Tournament Committee; The 2013 New Zealand International Seniors Golf Championship shall be under the management and control of the PaR nz Tournament Committee, comprising of the Tournament Director, Rules Liaison and a representative from the NZSGA, whose decision on all matters relating to the Championship shall be final. The Championship Committee will decide all disputes, will be responsible for all arrangements and reserve the right to change any tournament condition, starting time or alter the order of events.Insurance; All competitors participating in the 2013 New Zealand International Seniors Golf Championship do so at their own risk; the Tournament Committee, PaR nz Corporate Events Ltd, sponsors, host golf clubs and other suppliers of goods or services accept no liability for any death, injury, property loss or damage incurred during or arising out of any aspect of the conduct of the Championship. It is advised that all international visitors have full medical and travel insurance to cover all eventualities.
