PASTOR’S MESSAGE

Dear parishioners of Our Lady of Peace Parish,

Once I tried to compare the Catholic Church as a religion

which has the biggest number of members as a sign to

prove that it is true and right religion. One man argued that

the Muslim also has a large number of members as we

have. For a moment, I felt that my statement failed.

However, the challenge for all of us is not about the num-

ber of members of our Church but it is about our faith in

God through Jesus Christ. The first martyrs of our Church

had never counted on how many members the Church had

(at that time the number was very small and almost un-

known and so weak), but they had counted on their faith

and their encounter with Jesus. Even in today's Gospel,

Jesus compares the Kingdom of God like a mustard seed,

the smallest among others, sown upon the ground and be-

comes the greatest of all shrubs (Mark 4.31), the martyrs

and all the faithful disciples just try all that they could to

be witnesses to Jesus and spread his Gospel. They certain-

ly believe that God is the one who make everything hap-

pen.

On this Sunday, let us pray for the grace of being faithful

and for the zeal of evangelization, never count on our

works, instead thank God for his precious gift of faith

praying that our faith continues to increase every day and

forever.

Sincerely yours in Christ Fr. Peter Thang Nguyen

Important Information We are pleased to announce that a committee has been formed to investigate options to in-clude a place of worship / chapel in our parish. Current committee members include Dennis Gibbs (Project Manager), Scott Gelowitz, Anita Rieger, Rick Perras, Brian Martens and Father Peter. We are in the early stages of research and will share more details as we have them. We are only considering options that we have sufficient funds to pay for immediately.

Bulletin board Camp Lemieux is looking for a vehicle to haul grocer -ies, pull the garbage trailer and travel to do camp promo-tions. Our budget is minimal, but we still require a vehicle that is road worthy. If you have a reliable vehicle that you would consider selling or donating, please give us a call at (306) 773-0026 and leave a message. Thank you.
